Honestly, I thought our run game looked just fine. Our rushing yard totals are slighted by two pretty big sacks on Ganz and that fumbled play to Paul. Without those plays, we have a pretty solid ypc. Not to mention, we kept trying to bounce it to the outside! WHY!??!?! VT has a fast but undersized defensive line. That means you run it up the middle. Every time we did that we got at least 3-4 yards and a few ten yarders. This game caused me personally to lose a bit of faith in only one person- Shawn Watson.
... And I also lost faith in those in charge of clock management. Did anyone notice in the fourth quarter how the clock kept running after Taylor goes out of bounds at our one yard line? It did. Lost us like 15 seconds. Watch the game again if you don't believe me. Perhaps the most ridiculous instance was when they magically reset the playclock to 25 on VT's last drive. I still don't understand what could have happened there. They gave us 3 seconds back, but we lost 11 seconds. As it turns out none of it mattered because Petersen fumbled anyway, but all the same it was pretty outrageous.
