Callahan must have been in Vegas playing blackjack with all these busts! :rollin :rollin :rollin

nevermind that was dumb <_<

the difference between good and bad coaches in my mind is the ablility to develop tallent to a college level. This is what callhan couldn't do because he thought of people as already at their talent level. That is the way it is in the NFL overall. He never realized these are just high school kids that need development.

I think Bo understands this

Missed a couple:

Zac Taylor- Conference Player of the Year 2006, Husker Career Passing Leader, Legend.

Matt Slauson- 4 year starter on the Offensive Line. Solid player.

There were definitely some disappointments in this class. Injuries, off the field issues, etc. I still think Callahan's best class was 2007, I think it will show in 2 years.

Dead on, I'd say.

Zac was good, but Legends win championships and build legacies. Not dissin Zac and what he did here, i think he did what he could to make us respectable while he was here

I find it hard to call 2 and 3 star kids BUSTS. Maybe that is just me though.

Zac Taylor did win a Championship, a North Division one which was the first since 1999 and only the 3 in school history. He also kept this program together and should go down as a Legend IMO.

I agree ZT was a bright spot, and Callahan probably would have never won more than 7 games without him. But this list just goes to show that either Callahan is a crappy recruiter and/or bad developer of talent. He also can't recognize talent, I mean he barely ever played Purify and he was the best receiver on the team. I just hope Bo can make the Huskers respectable this year and then start to win more games next year.

Um, we had several QB's win the Big 8 title and none of them are going down as legends. Let's see, Big 8 with 8 schools may mean more than North title of Big 12 with only 6 schools. Frost goes down as a legend because he won a NC and was the school's first QB to have a 1000/1000 season. Crouch goes down as a legend because he was the first NU QB to win the hypesman. Frazier definitely goes down as a legend. Berringer goes down as a legend but probably for all the wrong reasons. Tagge, definitely a legend. Taylor just doesn't fit the bill to be a Husker legend.

I am not ready to put Zac along with Tommie, Frost, Crouch and the defenses that made their teams great. I am ready for new legends to emerge but lets start with a conference title in their hands first, not the division.

I think what we are seeing the last 2 years is exactly how good Zac was. He is #1 on most of the school passing records, and was conference player of the year. You can name the Husker QB's to get that distinction on probably one hand, maybe 2. I think that should solidify him as a Husker great.

I don't see how he could go down as a legend for all of the wrong reasons? He is the reason why NU did what they...if it wasn't for his play, there would not have been the NC. I would put Turner in this group as well...he is the one who started the option and defined the program.

I would put Taylor in there for the same reasons as Gill. He was the reason we were in the games and kept NU's head above water during the change over. I am not saying he is as good as Gill by any means, but it kind of goes together.

One of the toughest games in 94' was against KState. Walk-on 3rd string QB Turman started the game. With the supporting cast in 94', I think we win out even with Turman. Berringer was a great QB, and there's no doubt about it. However, a lot of his legendary status was brought about after he died. I still remember fans booing when he came in back in 1995. Taylor's legendary status can be compared to Steve Taylor and Jerry Godowski. If you think they're Husker legends, then by all means put Zac Taylor on your list.

There are some solid players on the list though. You are not going to have your entire recruiting class be productive even at the top schools. That just does not happen.

Beck-Transfer, not good to begin with

Bowman-Very good player, would have been first rounder in NFL if stayed Healthy

Brooks-can still be an ok player out of class when pt emerges next season

Congdon-transfer

Covey-has done nothing

Cryer-made alot of plays for the nebraska defense

dagunduro-good player, could get to qb, made plays

dillard-good lb, growing, played solid this year in a bad lb core

franklin-notta

glenn-was a good rb when healthy, has played ok at lb this year in his first year, makes alot of mistakes but is raw at position(thought the mistakes would be cut down for having played spring ball at lb and fall camp there)overall a good player

Frantz Hardy-had big play capability. could stretch the field. dropped passes. decent player though

David Harvey-

Hickman-servicable player, plays on an entire oline that is not good this year, played better last year

Hunter-

Leon Jackson-went to hawaii as transfer played well there

lucky-never lived up to hype but there may have been to much hype surronding him. good player who could play for most schools in big 12. will be 3rd down back in nfl

moore-done nothing

octavien-Injuries slowed down an explosive lb. when he came here he reminded me of a demario williams. very quick. you cant account for injures when recruiting him. good player when healthy

pasterur, j piccou r piccou- not a good topic

potter-was better last year than he is this year. good d lineman though. good player

rands-dont think you could expect to much out of him anyhow. trackster not football player.

roark-nothin

slauson-better last year than this year when he was healthy. decent player

souder-nothin

spain-nothin

Suh-good player who can make plays

zac taylor-better than ganz, keller, and dailey. good passing qb smart and made good decisions. AWSOME signing

tomerlin-nothin

turner- very good player, miss him alot. makes plays

wilson-nothin

out of the 31 or 32 players or whatever you have about half you are pretty good players. you cant expect to have 25 or 26 be good players. you also cant necessarly help them transfering either. this is not that bad of class. you had some juco guys who were only here for a couple years which is the gamble you make when recruiting juco players
