Linky winkyNebraska's athletic teams enjoyed a rarity in college sports last week by posting a perfect 22-0 record across all team-scored events.
The highlight of the week's success came with the No. 4 Nebraska wrestling team capturing a share of the 2009 Big 12 championship at the NU Coliseum on Saturday. The Huskers produced four individual Big 12 champions in Craig Brester (197) Brandon Browne (174), Jordan Burroughs (157) and Vince Jones (184), while Stephen Dwyer added runner-up honors at 165 pounds.
The Nebraska men's and women's basketball teams both posted 2-0 records to close Big 12 regular-season competition, while the Husker baseball team cruised to a 5-0 record with a four-game weekend sweep of Cal State Northridge at Hawks Field.
The Husker softball team added a 4-0 record on the weekend at the Shocker Invitational in Wichita, Kan., while the Nebraska men's tennis team continued its impressive start to the season with three 7-0 sweeps at the Nebraska Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Nebraska women's gymnastics team concluded its home regular-season schedule with a win over Iowa State on Sunday, while the women's tennis team also notched a home win over Northern Iowa on Saturday.
The Husker soccer team wrapped up NU's perfect weekend with three wins over Arizona State, Washington State and Southern Utah in exhibition action in Tempe, Ariz.
