Meh. You're no AR. ;-)
I got an idea, merge your two universities and see if it can catch us in total attendence. But what would they call it though? I know, Kansas Wildhawks or State of Kansas Jaycats!

My two universities? Nebraska and.... who? I only root for the Huskers, and there's no "knapplc U" that I'm aware of (although that would be totally cool). :)

you replied to the wrong person. Just look at the numbers from last year. We would have covered you and some in terms of tickets sold. Now that being said read the last sentence of my post, I believe nebraska could sell out a 100000 seat stadium.

Well, since I go to at least 2 games a year at memorial and saw that the stadium had empty seats, i've even seen husker fans leave early. I'm not trashing on your tradition at all. As for Kansas, realize we have two major college teams with about a 50/50 split in the state. Add those two attendances together and you get over 96000 Kansans watching D1 football on a saturday during the 2008 season. I think you guys should really look into getting a stadium that holds 100,000. I do not think you would have a problem selling it out. Would be an even better experience.
Remember that Kansas has 1 million more people, 2.8 million vs 1.8 million. Granted KSU is in the middle of nowhere (closest airport is in Topeka about an hour away, which really hurts recruiting), KU is a stones throw away from KC, which is way bigger than Omaha (yes, it does split with MU). And in Kansas, Chiefs are much bigger than than both football teams.

I guess what I am saying it is hard to compare the two.

i wasn't comparing the two. Just saying that even though both our major college teams have less than 55000 seat stadiums Kansans do get out to watch football at close to 100000. It was just a thought, not a rib or a joke or a comparison. you guys have been doing it since the 1960's so I'm not comparing.

Nah, I didn't take it as such, I was just sayin', also. There was talk in the '70s or '80s about a 100000 seat indoor stadium off the interstate between Gretna and Waverly. Went to a school for a while where the games were not on campus (SMU before death) and glad that that didn't happen. (Enjoyed the beer bus, though) Games should be played on campus
