Worst playcalls

Since it's the middle of july and we all have nothing better to do. What's the worst playcall you've ever seen?

-Dailey running out of bounds on fourth and goal against Southern Miss told me it would be a long season.

-Callahan's gtfo of town without being embarrassed gameplan against USC in 2006.

-The fake field goal against CU.

-Everytime Bobby Newcombe was on the field and Solich did nothing to utilize his talent.

Since you didn't have any from the TO era, I remember the 1994 Orange Bowl vs. Miami where we had 1st and 10 after a turnover and called for a pass play that resulted in an interception. Pass play wouldn't normally be a bad call--if we didn't have the most stifling running game in the nation!

Just about every play the Ol' Ball Coach called against McBride's boys in 1995.

Pretty much the entire ballgame when Nebraska played Auburn in the Cotton Bowl...any other Coach would have won that game for NU.

Nebraska v. Oklahoma- Nov. 1, 2008.

Nebraska's first play of the game- the stupid screen pass, that got pick 6'd.

:bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang

^^^^^ I saw that play coming from a mile away. And obviously so did the OU cornerback ^^^^^

for me. A very predicatable QB run on 3rd and short in the 1997 MU/NE game. :cry

First down iced that game and we ran the safest most predidtable play in our book.

Now what would have been good is if Ganz faked the screen pass and then threw it down field. Now THAT would have been sweet!

Yeah, no joke. My friend (an OU fan) and I drove down to Norman for the game, and it was like it happened in slow motion. I knew exactly what was going to happen once Ganz looked to his left, and yes, so did Dominique Franks :bang :bang :bang

For me it was any time during the Callahan era when it would be 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 2 and we would run one of those "run three yards and turn around" deals. Of course they would all be covered, Taylor or Dailey would get sacked and we'd punt the ball. I can't even count how many times that happened.

Joe Torre in 1982, as manager of the Braves, letting the pitcher throw to Ken Oberkfell with a base open and Bruce Sutter on deck. Oberkfell had a lifetime .450 average against the pitcher, Gene Garber. Sutter only batted like 3 times that season. Obie lined a double to right center for the winning RBI.

That was the worst of all time.

was it a fake punt or going for it on fourth down in our territory against Auburn in the Cotton Bowl? but thats my vote

Going for two in the 1983 National Championship. Would have been great had it turned out the way it did in Boise State v. Oklahoma <_<

2006 Texas - Taylor to Nunn on 3rd Down to seal the deal.

A run play to the outside with Jackson probably gets us a first down or he at least hangs on to the ball so we can punt.
