LOL I thought this was going to happen to us on Saturday.
We were transporting a heart attack patient to the hospital when he goes into cardiac arrest. We flip the lights and stomp on the pedal. My partner is doing compressions, and I'm on the airway, giving O2 via bag valve mask, and the paramedic is preparing an injection of epinephrine to jump his heart.
I look up and directly out the back window and see two cops racing for us with lights flashing. They get right up on our bumper, and when we go through a red light, turning left to head up the hospital road, they whip around us and whip their cars sideways to block oncoming traffic from t-boning us. After we cleared the intersection they pulled in front and escorted us the rest of the way. Was pretty exciting and cool to have them look out for us like that, even though this video was going through my mind when I first saw them.
Oh, and the guy died. Bummer.
