Best Steakhouse in Omaha?

The Hog

Personal favorite, order the bone-in filet if they have it (typically off the menu). Rather pricey, usually it's on someone else tab when I eat there.

Flemmings is comprable.

I hear good and bad things about Omaha Prime in the Old Market. I've typically had a positive experience.

I hear good things about these places, though they're rather older in style. Definately less expensive. Never been to either personally, though I intend to try them:

The Drover

Anthony's

One of the best steakhouses in Omaha is actually north of Blair. Driftwood. Looks like a small town cafe but don't let that fool you. They cut their own steaks in house. The filet easily compares to the more expensive ones I've tried in Omaha. (comparing it to the Drover, Mahogany's, and Brother Sebastians.)

Plus the large filet (about 12 oz) is only $20.95. I'm totally serious about this. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

So ETR, where did you go, and what's the report card look like?

We went to Gorats. I had the large cut Filet Magion. Excellent. Would have likes a touch more seasoning on it, but it was very good. Far and away the best cut the table ordered. Some others got eh Sirloin and Prime Rib, but everyone had a small taste of the Filet and they all agreed. Sides were very average, but you go for the steak.

Good choice Eric! My family has gone to Gorat's for years. My husband and I got engaged there on Christmas Eve.......many years ago! We have a favorite waitress too. Her name is Dee. Excellent! Glad you enjoyed it. (It's also Warren Buffet's favorite place!)

Went to Gorat's for our anniv. last year...also got the filet, EXCELLENT by the way. Cascios is good as well (from what I've heard)

I worked at Gorat's for 4 years and that contributed to my pudgeyness at the time. Piccolo's is my favorite for Prime Rib, also hear that Jericho's is excellent for Prime Rib. The Drover is awesome, but a little more to the pricey side. Whiskey Porterhouse there is worth the occasional splurge.
