Just to share a thought that suddenly flashed into my head

Just read Cy's post and suddenly... a really... well, crazy thought flashed into my mind.

If sCUm has another bad season next year and they end up axing the Hawk. They might take a run at Watson and if he goes there, then we pick up Hawkins as offensive coordinator.

As I said a crazy thought and I know I'll get a lot of heat but then it is August.

Other than the fact that Hawkins has had past success and would probably not take a coordinator position I suppose it's and interesting thought. With that I've seen of his offenses I'm not that impressed, but will admit that I don't know what sort of scheme he tries to run etc.

Yeah..

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wats go back to Boulder...But I don't see Hawkins coming here.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dirk Koetter make a return to College as an OC.

Here's my crazy, wacky, insane thought: How good will Nebraska be in '09 if they don't make the stupid mistakes they did in' 08?

#1 Hawk isn't on the hot seat and has done a lot to clean up Barnett's mess.

#2 We do not want Watson, ya'all can have him.

If you look at how successful Boise St has been SINCE the Hawk left, I think you'll see it probably isn't Hawkins who is the good coach but Chris Peterson, Hawkins' OC at Boise St and current HC, who was the driving force behind Boise St's success. I think a lot of people expected Boise St to fall off the map again after he left but they keep plugging along. I think CU screwed up by hiring Hawkins instead of Peterson. No way in hell do I want Hawk here as an OC.

Obviously we'll take him because he's an excellent coach and OC. It doesn't surprise me in the least that a Colorado fan can't recognize a great coach when he sees one...probably because of all the THC in your system. Don't you guys know that stuff impairs your judgment?

Oh and yeah, you guys are winning 10 games next season...no pressure at all.

Personally I've have no idea where you guys are going to find 10 wins. Here's the way I see your season playing out:

Colorado State............W

Toledo........................W

Wyoming.....................L

West Virginia...............L

Texas..........................L

Kansas........................L

Kansas State................W

Missouri.......................L

Texas A&M...................W

Iowa State...................W

Oklahoma State............L

Nebraska.....................L

Now, you guys could beat Wyoming, West Virginia and/or Kansas, but even still that's 8 wins at best.

Bottom line: You guys are more than likely to be 5-6 again when you play Nebraska and losing to us again will mean another 5-7 season.

Now if you guys DO get to 10 wins then I'll know that the apocalypse is nigh.

I think you need to stop taking that medication man. We don't want to think of that, we Like Watson and respect him. How could we like him if he would become a CU head coach? More alcohol, less over the counter or under the counter meds my friend :)

I'm really really glad you didn't write, "Excellent coach IN EVERY WAY"..

Seems like over the last decade or three, CU has been the poster child for teams needing a preseason.

I fully expect them to lose to CSU in their first game, and maybe even to Toledo.

But they usually finish strong other than last year (due to excessive injuries) and it will probably take our best effort to win in Boulder..So..NO MO' SPOTTING THEM TWO TD's to start the game..

Best case scenario (for them)..I can see them maybe getting nine wins.

I also feel we'll be much improved, but our record could easily be worse than last season's.

I hated that song as a child, but it was playing in my head all day Friday..and for some reason I was picturing the BaJa surf like it might have been in the movie "Endless Summer", but so far..not able to find that video..Saw you'd posted a new thread, and still had it playing in my head, so I posted it.

Good thing I finally got that Rick-Roll song out me 'ead.
