Free Runzas

Did anybody notice they changed the back of the tickets from Free Runzas with soda and fry purchase to a deal now where if the D holds teams to 3 points or less they will do a free runza, and then lists a sliding scale of what you get if they score more?

Maybe it will be like Semi Pro (Will Ferrel's spoof Basketball movie) now where the crowd really gets into the games where there is a chance to win free food? <_<

Well that sucks. I know the economy is bad, but c'mon.
If it was done because the economy was bad then they wouldn't have cut it like that... the point of them giving it out is to drive business there and chances are when people go they aren't just getting that runza.. they are getting the other food and drink, maybe bringing the family, hence bringing in more business that wouldn't be there.. My guess would be just them trying to mix it up a little bit.

I totally agree... it was a brilliant scheme to get people to go to Runza. I used every single one of my ticket stubs last year for free Runzas, Onion Rings and a Pepsi. I kinda like the new idea; we'll see if the D can serve up a feast with the beatdowns they have in store for visiting opponents.

What the heck's a Runza? :dunno
Its a good reason to travel to Lincoln this fall... like TX is famous for BBQ, NE is famous for Runza. Check it out!!

If, or should I say when I go see a game in Lincoln, I'll be sure to try one out. They look pretty good from the pic above. :cheers
They have them in the stadium... so you wont have far to go. :snacks:

I tried to make Runzas at home once. It was a colossal failure.

I do think Runza did lose out on a little business with their previous promotion though. I went to a Runza in Lincoln post game and used one of my tickets, but told the cashier I wanted to keep it as a souvenir. She didn't mark it or do anything to it other then hand it back to me. The next day I used my other ticket stub in Hastings (I wanted to try and be honest) and to experiment with the idea. I said the same thing and the cashier didn't mark it either. Runza could have lost quite a bit of money if this is done elsewhere, and the tickets are not marked.

Just my two cents

Really that is disappointing to hear. Can't get them out East obviously so I found a recipe on HP that I have been wanting to try. I love those things, maybe my attempt will go better. If so, I will let you know.
