MU has a loss

DUI is against team policy.

Gabbert is backed up by very decent but inexperienced Jimmy Costello and freshman Aston Glaser. Also on the team is freshman T.J. Moe, who played QB all through HS, but is now a WR

It's a loss, but a necessary one. Pinkel is quite the disciplinarian. Takes no BS.

He was pulled over earlier in the year and there was an unopened beer and some prescription pain pills in the glove box. There was an explanation for the pills (friend left them there) and no charges were ever filed. But I'm sure he was on a very, very short leash after that.

EDIT: Earlier he plead guilty to MIP... Just no felony drug charges. So, not a first incident. Talented kid with a troubled mind.

FR QB Blaine Dalton dismissed from the team today.

I would like to here Fros take on this.
Sucks to lose a talented player, but dont break the rules when you are all ready on "coach probation" (my own words not GP's) It will have little to no effect on this year other than possibly causing Glaser to lose his redshirt. But as MUTigerFan said, he had that run in this summer with beer in his truck. Then within a few months when things are still fresh, gets caught again. Sucks for him, but rules is rules.

They still have 3 scholly guys this fall and 1 more commited. I guess the only good news out of this is that maybe he gets the help he needs and mu still has alot of time to pick up an extra QB if they choose

Kudos to Pinkel for doing the right thing. As Husker fans know from recent events, it's tough to lose talent, but it helps the team in the long run.

True. Pruning trees of dead branches causes new branches to grow. Bailey Quarters taught me that.

unless you're maclin.

At least Pinkel did the right thing. It's easy in a win now culture to do it regardless of the costs. But it looks like a couple of coaches in the north are doing things the right way.
