Green the starter by Conference time?

Anyone else think that there is a good possibilty that Green will get more playing time and become the starter? I think it is within the realm and should Zac Lee have trouble leading the team Bo won't be afraid to move to Green. Not your average freshman

I think its way to early to start thinking like that. Lee lead the team to a 39 point smashing of FAU. Green came in once the game was well in hand. I don't know about you but I would be way more relaxed knowing the outcome. Don't get me wrong Green is a very impressive player, and will make a huge impact at Nebraska, just don't start putting the nails in Lee's coffin just yet.

And for no other reason than it's Sunday a dancing banana :corndance

I agree with ^^. Lee did a great job, (imho) took care of the ball, showed some leadership, managed the pocket nice, and made a nice run. I think he is the guy, and man he throws he nice ball! :clap :clap

Cody Green may be the future of the Huskers, but right now Zac Lee looks good enough to keep the starting the job. Of course, this was just Florida Atlantic so we will see.

I do think that Cody Green is going to be an absolute "FREAK" though!!

Green will not be our starter at all during this season unless Lee goes down on an injury. Zac Lee showed us last night that he's got a pretty accurate cannon minus the one interception but Lee is FAST too when he decided to scatter out of the pocket. As the game continued Lee began to get more comfortable in the pocket and when he was under pressure he finally decided to run with the ball and when he did he broke a 13 yard run for a first down.

I think that Lee will be a pretty damn good QB for us this year and I feel really relieved that Green is a good back up QB too. I'll admit that I wanted to see more of Green when he came into the ball game but you gotta give props to Lee for performing very well.

think green should learn to handle his cheat sheets first before any of us start talking about him replacing lee.

my opinion: lee is the starter unless he does some bad... like shooting tom osborne or desecrating devaney's grave. in the mean time, green can take notes and work on his game.

:yeah

Now if Zac came out and played like Mike Grant I would say there was a chance of him taking the starting job. Don't forget Zac was something like 15 of 22 and should have been at least 19 of 22 if his receivers and tightends caught the balls that hit them in their hands.

The only problem I saw with Zac was his tendency to throw a little behind his receivers so they couldn't catch the ball in stride. <_<

I can't see Lee losing his starting job but I was one of the people that thought Green would redshirt too so.......?

I'd only seen pictures of Green and when he came on the field I was blown away by his size. He's a specimen!!

I was really impressed with how many players saw the field yesterday. It doesn't seem like we were able to do that in previous years. The teaching, growth, game time experience is gonna really be good going forward.

not to attack, but why would you think that after the great game that zac lee played yesterday?

That's what I was thinking. Zac Lee had one bad throw the entire game. In fact, you might be able to say he had one bad play the entire game. He looked comfortable, calm, made good throws and was poised.

Man his throws up the seam of the field were impressive!!! I really liked what I saw in Lee.

The way Green plays is starting to remind me of daryll clark from penn state...he's got the size, the arm strength, and the accuracy...but lee deserves to start after the way he played last night

The Cody Green fetish needs to vanish. He looked the part of our future QB, but Zac is the headline story. He did everything that was required of him in our system. More important than his stats was his composure, pocket presence, and decision making. He threw a low ball that got picked, but aside from that, he looked great.

Green earned a few prime time series, though, I think. It would be nice to see him get a drive together in the late first or early second quarter next week.

I think they need to implement a 2-QB backfield at some point when we go up against the heavy hitters. Both of them are good on their feet and could give us a pretty potent variety. Depending on the team mentality, I could see a more even split of playing time working well for us, keeping our boys fresh.
