Question for the student section....

DANG FRAT RATS!!!
lol!

well I guess I can see the other viewpoint. it just kind of suprised me. I have been in the student section before, but they were conference games.. so that may have something to do with it. Still.. it was a 1:00 game so drunkenness shouldn't have been too much of an issue (didn't really seem to be to me).

So, I guess.. for those who may know. This one specific gesture... how long has it been around? Because I've never seen it before, so I assumed it may have been a recent development.

Is it normal for people in the student section to put up their hands to form a.. well a vagina and yell that the other team's player is a b*tch and/or p*ssy?

I just brought my girlfriend to her first ever husker game today, and I have to say I was a bit ashamed by that. WTH is going on?

edit: i should add that this was not a majority.. but it was quite a few people.

It's college football not church.
It's NU, not CU.

This.

Wow, I am totally blown away by some of the responses in this thread. Mostly the ones by people who are part of the student section. You are basically condoning your own actions and making it sound like you think its ok. That is just sad. You might as well be throwing urine bombs with the crap that goes on. Just because you are college aged kids you have the right to act childish and do whatever you want, whenever you want to? I have never understood this mindset. What ever happened to just being loud? Like was said earlier, we are NU and not CU...if you want to act like them, transfer.

I agree, by your description it was not a classy "chant" or whatever it was (as i did not hear it), but you can't sit with a bunch of college students who have been drinking all day and expect not hear anything vulgar.

At least they know how to stand and scream.

But then..I guess I was guilty of using the same hand gestures the first time my Son and I were home and I was trying to 'splain where he came from.

I blame myself..

It was over eight years ago..but the picture must've gotten out.

At least then you might stand up.

i am not a fan of these actions, but honestly it has to be something we need to get over guys. while in a perfect world we would be able to enforce rules against such things, this isnt colorado, and were nhot going throw out a whole section. fact is, this is nationwide. i have seen this stuff frequently at the high school level as well. its just becoming a trend.

Look, I'm not condoning vulgarity or rudeness...I'm just saying if you sit in the student section expect to see some of it.

It is impossible to have 85,000 people in one place and expect them all to behave properly. Humans don't work that way, especially in crowds, especially at football games, and especially when they've been drinking. Nobody condones this, everyone would agree it's stupid and unwanted, but expecting it all to go away isn't realistic.

We'll have to settle for 83,000 of our fans behaving correctly, I guess.

Okay, how about you try this one against ULL in 2 weeks.

1) Come to section 13, row 70.

2) Find a random male who appears to be intoxicated.

3) Try to explain ANYTHING to him.

4) Tell him how big of an bad guy he is because he said bullsh#t.

5) Get punched in the face because the drunk a$s doesn't give a sh!t what you said.

It's not that anyone is CONDONING it... we flat out said it's wrong, not agreeing with it. But you're dealing with 20 something drunk males. Good luck getting ANY sort of common sense across. There is a MAJOR difference between saying bullsh!t or holding you're hands up to call someone a "pu&&y" and throwing urine bombs or throwing bottles on the field. That's like saying me telling you to eff off is the same as me breaking your leg. learn the difference.

Therefore, no use crying over spilled milk.

aka. Get over it.

My point exactly....what gives you the right to act like this? Just because youre a 20 something college guy. Thats BS. Grow up and act like an adult. Better yet, act like a man.

DUDE. Calling an opponent a p*ssy or a bi*ch (as you claimed) is nothing to whine about. I'm sure your movie collection at home says much worse.

P.S. Obama appreciated your vote.

Im gonna leave this thread now. What an idiotic comment. Shows your true level of inteligence. BTW.....go have another drink.

I'm just playing around man. I just think being nice doesn't cut it anymore. It's about winning. Clawing, scratching, kicking..whatever it takes.

But I agree, we can accomplish this without being classless. (esp not throwing urine bombs)
