We lost....so what?

Bad calls, bad play, and penalties led to a loss that NU never should have experienced. That's it - game's over and now it's time to move on.

As crappy as the outcome is, it's not the end of the season or the world. Assuming NU comes back like they should ,it's going to be a great season.
for once, vince isnt trying to sell us some crap towel... there is some truth to what he is saying.

There is always truth to what I say. It's that this one is 100% truth as opposed to some posts with 1%. ;)

I completely understand what the original poster is trying to say. Although this loss is a tough one to take to say the very least, I think our team showed the kind of team speed, blocking and toughness that will be needed during the season. Everyone's saying oh well va techs run defense is terrible. they still have very good athletes and speed on defense, something that has killed us in recent years. our o line proved they can handle (except on a few pass rushes) a team with speed. if we just convert two of our red zone opportunities into td's we are looking at a blowout. I certainly think that we can win our remaining games, including OU. is it going to be easy? not at all, but they can all be won. if we win out we will without a doubt be in the top 10 somewhere, depending on what happens top 5. i think its funny how people are like oh please NC? are you kidding me? if we just knock down the ball on that 80 yd play people would be going nuts. we are ten times the team va tech is. we shut down their o just like bama did except at their stadium. i think everyone would say bama is a damn good d. we ran the ball just as effectively as bama did. and if zac was anywhere near his usual self we would have won by 3 tds. i think this season looks pretty bright.

I'm going to say that this game in the whole scheme of things, really doesn't mean much for Nebraska.

Let's look back at last year's loss to Virginia Tech. Did it keep up out of the Big 12 Championship game? Did it prevent us from going to a better bowl game? The answer to both of those questions are no and no. The losses against Missouri, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma are what did those.

Now, should Nebraska really get their stuff together and win out the rest of their games (Hold on a sec.... :koolaid2: awww there we go) Yes, win out the rest of their games, I'm gonna go on the limb and say they are still not only BCS Bound, but National Championship bound. Do you really think two teams will go undefeated this season? Plus, if you're going to lose, it's best you do it early. (Unless you are the 2001 Nebraska team.) Now, I know, National Championships are the last thing we should be talking about, but I'm just saying there is a lot to play for. The coaches will look at what we did wrong, and we WILL get better.

GBR!
 to your post

We're getting there. If this team does like last year and continually gets better and better throughout the rest of the season, then it wouldn't shock me to hear our name mentioned in the NC race for 2010. Tebow, McCoy, and Bradford will all be gone.
