There is a rumor going around that Zac Lee broke his throwing hand on the final play of the game

Maybe it's time for the lynch mob to back off the rumor leakers-they seem to have been rather accurate the last few weeks.

You're probably right. We should probably just take every rumor at face value from now on. That seems like a prudent way to go.

No because they weren't accurate. The rumors claimed he broke his throwing hand. Lee hurt his thumb on his non-throwing hand. He was held out today simply because he took medicine that requires rest. He is supposed to practice tomorrow. Rumor debunked.

Except that people did think Lee's hand was broken at one time. After the game Lee's while traveling back, Lee's hand was swollen and he did think it was broken. Thus where this rumor came from.

Although none of it is a surprise. I said it just a few minutes after the game that you could see Lee flexing his thumb during the game and looking at it too much. Had to hurt like heck taking the snap from center every play right on that thumb.

Almost hope they hold him out of the ULL game. Should win it regardless and we need Lee completely healthy for the conference schedule.

His throwing hand was swollen?

So did Lee injure his thumb before the game or during the game?

If it was on his non-throwing hand, it doesn't explain why he missed so many passes.

If we all would just put down our defenses and over-protecting of the team and players...we should realize that many 'rumors' are based off of something first hand. They discussed this yesterday on Unsportsmanlike Conduct on 1620. A friend, classmate or passer-by sees or hears something and has that urge to be the first one to share what they know.

Are all of the rumors true? Of course not. Do people start these just to stir the pot? Of course they do. But just because Bo or Zac hasn't told you personally doesn't mean there isn't any credibility.

Just now on Schick and Nick they were playing sound bites and a listener picked up something interesting. Bo says "He's just got a splinter fff....it's nothing". What was the "fff..."??? He was starting to say a different word, but quite obviously stopped himself and changed direction. The listener pointed out that maybe he was talking about a splint for a fracture. Low and behold that if you do a little googling and there is a common injury to hands/fingers called a SPLINTER FRACTURE. Hmmm.....

No one knows the truth of when and how he hurt it. I've heard during practice, in warm-ups and during the game.

It's the same as no one knows the extent of his injuries. Heck, even Pelini showed again why you have to take what he says with a grain of salt now that the news has came out that Lee did infact break a bone in his hand.

He also went on to say he has a splint on his left hand to provide support. Even if it is a "SPLINTER FRACTURE", I'm sure it is something won't effect his playing ability.
