Weatherspoon punching McNeill in the back

How did I miss this play? When did this happen?

relatively early in the game! mcniell was getting up and weatherspoon punched him on the back and knocked him back to the ground! i wanna say second quarter but not sure....

They threw the flag and still got the penalty wrong. Punch = Immediate ejection.

For sure! I was screaming at the TV, "Why is that guy still in the game?" It doesn't matter if he hurt anyone. Throwing a punch is supposed to be an automatic ejection.

yes and no, if any player punches it's an automatic suspension, you could see the big 12 issue it for the next game.

While I'm not a big fan of dirty play, I think spoon was probably thinking the player was trying to take out his knees, when he just fell down or w/e, which is why he was mad.

Doesn't matter. Cut blocks like that are legal, whether he likes it or not. He should have been ejected.

Was this when he got the 15 yard penalty or a different play? I though he punched Burkhead in the back of the helmet or maybe I saw the numbers wrong. He also pushed Lee after he tackled him on a QB keeper up the middle. Moral of the story Weatherspoon is a prick.

I know punches to the back are illegal. 15yds 1st down nuff said.

I never heard if any fans were hurt by the vicious NU players after the game though.

Shouldn't he have been ejected for punching a player? Especially punching a player in the back.
