Suh for Heisman

I really think there needs to be a push for him in some way. Just getting him on the ballot would be huge...to get him to the presentation would be as close to victory as could happen.

Tim Griffin from ESPN is having a LIVE chat on the ESPN college footbal website at 1PM. We all need to ask the question! You can submit your questions now too.

He builds a good case for it, would have loved to have had just 1 more sack or pass blocked in the last minutes vs VA TECH though.

Let's see how the next 3 games come out and he will get his big press day vs OU with about a month to go till voting.

I wonder if a defensive lineman has ever finished in the top five? I can't find a history of voting results.

EDIT: Found them... looks like a DT from Iowa finished second in '57...

There have been around ten defensive linemen that finished in the top five. It seems like the voters have been more obsessed with big stats the past 20 years or so, and have mostly just considered QBs and RBs. The only defensive lineman to make the top five during that time was Washington's Steve Emtman, who finished 4th in '91 (29 first-place votes). Warren Sapp finished 6th in '94 with 17 first-place votes.
