"That doesn't mean we're saving a spot on Mount Rushmore for Green. But, like Gill and Frazier, Green did something very important in his debut: He didn't crash the car."

Exactly, we all knew he would make his mistakes, but he did show a lot of promise for the future.

"It never happened, because Nebraska's defense is the best friend a young quarterback can have. Bo Pelini has a 10-2 defense. Unfortunately, he's got a 5-7 offense."

God, I hate to admit how true that statement is. For those that tell us to quit being so down on this team, I am not. It's just that our offense is not that good, period.

Very good article, Green is now the man and others might as well get used to it.

We've already won 5 games, and you can't really pinpoint any of those wins on the defense. Yeah, we needed our defense to step it up against Missouri, but they weren't perfect. Our offense still had to score 13 points to win and they did.

A 5-7 offense sounds about right to me, given the injuries. I'd bump it up to 6-6 or 7-5 if Helu/Burk were completely healthy. Possibly even 8-4 if we still had Castille. That was a huge loss for us.
