Well Time to Talk Texas

Sooo Texas's d gives up 39 points and over 500 yards against A&M, and our D looks decent but not the shut down d we have seen against previous teams. What do you all think and what do we need to do next week to get ready for texas because damn its going to be a tough game!

I think and I know you will argue against me on this, that this weekend shouldn't factor on how to predict next week, rivalry games are skewed and one shouldn't put too much stock into devloping game plans based upon their results.

 
to be honest i agree with this to an extent, after being in the student section all game not all cu fans are asshats, i had a good time and only had 1 piss bomb thrown at me....hey wait, beach was that u???? haha just kidding but anyway i think alot of emotion was involved in both our games this week and rivalry or not colorado always throws the kitchen sink at us as well as i am sure a&m does. Hopefully we can throw a few sinks or possibly a whole sh#t ton of them at texas next week.

 
My feeling was that the Fightin' Uteri reeeeally respected the aTm QB to run and pass - not so much with either of our QBs. Need to get something going offensively to help our D. Need some spark.

That's a good point. A&M's QB had them reacting a lot instead of just going after it. The result was that you could tell during the game that Texas just couldn't cue on one thing and tee off whenever they liked.

 
I have a feeling texas will be able to T off on our offense. Watson doesn't make any d pay for blitzing as we saw today and previously sooo it could be pretty bad on that part....hopefully our D can stonewall them.

 
As far as our offense, IMO, the most important determiner of success next weekend will be the O-line. If they can control and dominate Texas' defensive front 7 then we can do some things. If they can't and we try to get cute or tricky with complexity etc., it will be a long day for the offense.

I am not too worried about the D. They have some things to shore up, but, again IMO the offense REALLY needs to step up next weekend.

The game will be close for the first half. But after being on the field all of the first half the D will start to break down in the third quarter and UT will pull away easily.........

I have seen nothing from the offense in the 8 previous conference games that gives me any confidence that we can keep the game close late.

 
I'll be surprised if we are still in it (score wise) at the half. Texass respects nebraska enough and they've probably read some of the BS articles about spoiling their title shot. They'll come out swinging and we played like a mentally weak football team today. I just don't see our offense getting anything going and our D won't be able to keep up with those speedy recievers. I think we'll see at least 2 big play scores (as in 40+ yards). Texass is just fast and physical and focused.

 
i like our chances. the o-line is starting to gel and i am becoming more and more impressed with lee. he is a tough guy and i think he will do okay next week. the defense is making big plays when it needs to and, while people will argue that we haven't played an offense like texas, i am quite certain they haven't played a defense like ours. i think bo and the boys will surprise a few people next week.
