Mark Mangino on Texas winning over the Huskers

Only this time it's not about getting the at large bid so the conference makes more money, but rather about getting Texas in the title game.

Try 5 years. It was the year of the Texas/Michigan Rose Bowl.

And, while I understand the nature in which it was posted, it doesn't make much sense. The Big 12 would get more money with NU as the champ and Texas as the at-large.

I just had a great idea, since Mangino has no job, we could hire him, paint him red, and call him Big Red to go along with Lil Red.

But the NCAA gets more $$$ by not having an Alabama/Cincinnati snoozefest in the championship game.

Don't get me wrong, I expect Texas to get fully and mercilessly throttled, but they are better for ratings.
