sometime you have to be careful what you wish for. you could end up with colorado st or something. MU might not be nebraska's favorite school, but they do bring the second largest population to bat (TV contracts and ad revenue) they are pretty good at a number of sports & have a pretty large fan following (best attendence outside of the top 4, tx,ok,ne&atm) All that means more money and respect for the conference. the big 12 is one of the worst set ups and deals for the major confernces. YOu will most likely not get another big school to flip and you are left raiding the MTN WEST.Don't let the door hit them in the a$$
:snacks:
Good question. Ku goes to the Orange and it is far from a sell out. Ku was doing 2 for 1 on tickets and by game week you could buy tickets for $5. Mu goes to the Cotton and sells it out in record timeIf MU's fan base is so great, why do they keep getting passed up for bowl bids by teams like ISU?
You know most people in Nebraska don't know what that is, right? It's so hush-hush that the fans who delve into the program haven't ever heard of it... yet the teams we used to beat on a regular basis all seem to know what it is. So yeah, I see where you're coming from.county scholarships....

You know, I keep hearing this talk year in and year out. Yet I'm still waiting. <_<Well, they did beat *ahem* Mizzou this year. I honestly think they might be competitive in football in the next few years. I'm anxious to see what Briles does, he seems to be bringing improvement. And if they can beat Mizzou without Griffin, imagine who they can beat next year with him! :box
Yea... like the 36,000 in the Cotton Bowl in 2008?If MU's fan base is so great, why do they keep getting passed up for bowl bids by teams like ISU?sometime you have to be careful what you wish for. you could end up with colorado st or something. With these mid to lower tier bowls the invite isn't about wins and losses as much as it is about revenue. If Mizzou traveled like they should, them getting "snubbed" over ISU wouldn't have happened.
That's not exactly stellar for a bowl like the Cotton Bowl, you know. Texas Tech and Mississippi had 15,000 more folks show up than Missouri and Arkansas.Yea... like the 36,000 in the Cotton Bowl in 2008?

By 36,000 he meant 36,000 MU fans knapplc. The attendance for the MU/Ark 2008 Cotton bowl was over 73,000. You know that TT and Miss had more than 22,000 more fans that NE/AU two years before. That's not exactly stellar for a bowl like the Cotton Bowl, you know. I know what he meant, Fro. And I know that historically Missouri doesn't travel nearly as well as many teams, so let's just cut to the chase.By 36,000 he meant 36,000 MU fans knapplc. You also forgot to mention that the Cotton Bowl went from 76,000 to 92,000 seats after the 2008 MU/ark game.
Honestly if Missouri did go it would show the Big 12 doesn't care about it's members and will let whoever go. Same thing for Nebraska. It wouldn't be good to be a conference you can raid. Look at the Big East. That conference to me is below the Mountain West. The Mountain West is close to becoming an AQ conference too. There was just a report on espn that missouri would listen to any offers from the big 10. Anyone think theyll make the jump?
