WR Kyle Prater

"Oklahoma, Southern California, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama and Notre Dame are the six schools he is focused on the most right now. He does not have any firm dates nailed down, but said he's definitely planning to take an official to USC during the season."

"All along, the recruiting battle for Kyle Prater seemed destined to boil down to one decision: How close to home the Proviso West star wanted to play his college football.

Apparently Prater isn't concerned about airfares these days. The 6-foot-4-inch, five-star recruit is expected to announce Wednesday an oral commitment to play for Southern California starting in 2010, a person close to Prater told the Tribune.

Prater, the No. 2-ranked player overall nationally in Rivals.com's Class of 2010 rankings, has a 2:30 p.m. Wednesday news conference scheduled to announce his intentions. Prater's final five contenders reportedly were Southern California, Illinois, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee, though the final tug-of-war seemed to come down to the Trojans and the Illini.

Prater had 60 catches for 948 yards and nine TDs as a junior. "

So you're saying there is a chance?

But on a serious note we are in trouble with Cooper if Prater chooses ND. I cant believe I am saying this... But I hope he goes to OU or Florida.

withdrew verbal commitment to USC

damn so it begins... the end of the patriots the end of USC.... whats next....

i hope nebraska can slide in and fill that void
I would love that too, but there's probably about 0.5% chance that will happen.

Queue the Dumb and Dumber drop....

i know prater isn't gonna come here.. but with the shifting winds in college football i hope Nebraska in general becomes more of a realistic viable option for a lot of the top guys.... you never know....

as for cooper and prater... i dont know what to think

i am guessing he will end up nebraska though... just a hunch....

If Nebraska makes a BCS bowl next year, you can bet we'll pull in a nice recruiting class to go along with it.

I'm a touch worried about Cooper. Most thought he would be committed by now. Now he is going down to the last day. Sure hope we can get him.
