Expectations are High

i am very excited for next year and the potential of this team and the season. however, i can not help but think that ole miss was preseason 8. NU will have to win the games they are supposed to (which may be all of them) and have no slip ups. it should be an exciting and stressful year.

to add a note, huskers have been through, in the past 20 years, the highs of having confidence of going to a national championships, the lows of worrying about getting a winning season and going to a bowl, and now to the uncertainty of how the team will deal with the newfound confidence and expectations. some schools go through centuries to experience all of that, if at all.

Boise #1?? Really??

And, #4 for NU is nice, but I don't know if we've earned a spot that high. Until proven otherwise, I think a 9-14 ranking would be feasable to start off next season. However, the positive publicity we are getting sure is nice!

i think that list was largely based on who was coming back and how teams finished.

i think we should keep in mind his article is based off the the paper facts. how many retuning starters ect. This was a pretty well done artical but i have us hovering around 14 in my own poll.

I sure hope so, because Boise never impresses me at all.

Boise is the only top team other than Bama that returns their starting QB. Yes...I left the Skers out of that comment. I can't believe anyone would not put Bama on top at this point.

I don't know what Bo put in the water, but people are sure drinking our brand of kool aid for 2010. It just seems weird to go from complete oblivion to where we're at literally "overnight." I think Suh's big game really put Nebraska back in the conversation.
Thats what happens now a days. Look at the polls this year, multiple teams jumped 10 spaces at a time for a televised win and Miami was officially "back" (by ESPN of course) to give a couple of examples. Its all a giant hype machine and Nebraska for the last few years was on the outside looking in, but now with that dominating victory versus Arizona, the media is giving us hype. . .maybe a little more than deserved, but hype nonetheless.

And the flip side of that is that it can go the other way overnight, too. Today's media darling is tomorrow's pariah. Look at all the happy feelings Kansas was getting two seasons ago, and where they ended up last year.
