Three Game Series with Boise State

Screw 'em if they want more.
I agree with this right here.

Those knuckleheads need to wake up and realize that playing Nebraska in Lincoln twice is better for them and would help with the little brother complex that they have.

If they dont want the games call Utah, BYU, or TCU and see what they say. I have a hard time believing that they wouldnt agree to the 2-1 scenario.

There is a generally accepted formula for scheduling in division 1 football outlined in this article: Utah scheduling issues

Basically it says:

More fans : Less fans

1:1 to 3:2 warrants a home and away series

3:2 to 5:2 warrants a two for one series

5:2 to 1:0 warrants a one and done

Boise State at 33k is less than 2:1 compared to Nebraska's 86k, and so is simply not qualified for a home and home, using a widely recognized formula. They are playing a home and home with Oregon State and that fits as OSU averaged 42k in 2009.

TO has offered the proper schedule for who they are. Screw 'em if they want more.
Good stuff, RunTheBall. Thanks!

I took this quote from a Boise fan off the Yahoo football blog. What a joke. Link

Nebraska is playing a shell game with BSU. Search the internet as the details are getting leaked about the "offer". Boise is expected to play at Nebraska twice, Nebraska at Boise once, and the kicker..... Boise has to PAY Nebraska $1 million dollars when they come to Boise. It was a pretty funny joke really. Nebraska gets to distract everyone from the 2011 date (Nebraska's AD Tom Osborne says their schedule is already tough enough for OOC with Wyoming, Fresno State, and Washington so they are looking for a cupcake game to finsh the schedule) when Boise has an opening on the schedule and instead talk about a future 2 for 1 that they know Boise cannot take. With the size of the BSU stadium, someone posted that here as 32,000 seats, that is over $30 of every ticket. I'm guessing that many of those seats are free student seats or endzone spots that don't cost $30 each to begin with. Nebraska is a fraud in this and is laughing all of the way to the BCS. Can we all now collectively look at Nebraska and say "Shame on you for this scam!"?The flip side, $1 million (which has been shown in other articles online to be $900,000) asked by Boise State is about $11 per ticket at Memorial Stadium and about 20-25% of the Nebraska normal gameday gate ($4.3 million). It also shows in other articles that ESPN is trying to broker the deal and they will be paying for part of that fee. Nebraska wins and wins, unless they lose, in which case they are obviously not the #1 team in the country that some polls are indicating they will be next season.

Smoke and mirrors by Tom Osborne to conceal when and where his football program won't play.

Do my eyes deceive me, or did this douche just question Dr Tom's integrity?...and the way we've scheduled games for decades? Something tells me this guy doesn't quite know how to handle his team's ineptitude for doing what it takes to get to the big game. I mean you can't go much lower than disrespecting a living legend who's known for his honor.

That's what I was thinking too. Talk about disrespect...

Not to mention that this is the first place I have seen that Nebraska expects Boise to pay us. I can hardly believe that.

This isn't the biggest problem of the above post, but what polls have Nebraska #1 in the country next year? I haven't even seen them in the top 5.

Wow Boise St. You complain that "no one will play you" and then Nebraska offers you and YOU DON'T EVEN RESPOND. Really? Is that how "elite" programs are run, by ignoring ADs?

Just shut your mouths. I never want to hear the excuse that no one ever wants to play you.

"We will play anyone, anywhere, anytime........................except for teams we don't want to play in places we don't want to play at times we don't want to play" That should be your new slogan. Go back to your smurf turf.

this is boise's chance to prove they deserve a BCS shot... even though they have some opponents slated that carry some clout, I think they are afraid of biting off more than they can chew. Remember what happened when we tried that with USC? It was embarassing. But I think BS would give us a good game... the white jerseys would look pretty smart with a blue back drop.

If they don’t won’t to agree on the terms presented to them then I say screw it and go out and get somebody else to play. Not scheduling them doesn’t hurt us as it does them.
I agree.... heck, I think we should play Alabaman, UGA and or Iowa. I say bring on the very best and lets

settle this once and for all.... NEBRASKA IS BACK!

Why is everyone picking on Boise? I personally think their program is awesome. Sure they're schedule strength is weak, and they would lose 2-3 more games a year if they played in a major conference, but who cares? They've done an amazing job of catering to their specific situation and building something special. You know there are 60 other FBS teams that aren't in non-BCS conferences and you don't see any of them with anywhere near Boise's winning percentage. And this year, Boise beat a TCU team that many felt should have played for a national title before the bowls were played.

They're blue field may be an eyesore, but it's one of many things that makes college football so special. Different playing surfaces (and colors!), indoor and outdoor, small and large (and huge: Michigan, Tennessee, etc.). Tons of variety and tradition. Remember, Nebraska uses a Chartreuse-type yellowish green color on its field, with fairly stark-contrast alternating every five yards (inspired by Oregon's field). I think Boise's fans are awesome and the color coordinated efforts against Oregon were incredible.

I hope this deal gets accepted. I really wish it would start in 2011. Nebraska vs. Boise would be an incredible draw on a national level. And it would be fun to watch, which is what really matters.
