I have the old Windows XP with Moviemaker on it. Does anyone suggest purchasing Windows 7 and get the updated moviemaker? I do use it from time to time.
I was unaware Windows 7 had a moviemaker (coming from someone with 7)..

Took a bit of getting used to, obviously, but I am really loving it. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you have a capable box though...there is just so[/] much difference when you can run an operating system quickly![]()
My new laptop has W7 and I love it. Much easier to use than XP.I actually took the plunge into Windows 7 and I am glad I did. It has a lot of different features and it is very user friendly.

It just doesn't like the file type. Convert it to wmv before importing it and it should work. You can use THIS to convert it.HuskerfaninOkieland said:I have W7 and downloaded the Movie Maker program that is supposedley for W7. But anytime I upload a video and try to edit it in Movie Maker, it doesn't show. It just plays the sound. In the screen I get a red X. I've figured out it has something to do with a codec. Quicktime will play the video fine, but Media Player says it cannot. Anyone else run into this problem and have a fix for it?
