Tom Dienhart hears more possible Big Ten candidates

THe big 10 wont add Texas. Its not even in the damn region also, I think the BIG 10 COMMIS has better sense then that...I think he's way smarter than Beebe

I don't see this happening either, Texas has a nice gravy train in the big 12. I can't see anyother conferance giving texas all the concessions that the Big 12 did/does.

FWIW, apparently someone on ESPN earlier this week had mentioned Texas, Maryland and Vanderbilt as the latest possible candidates. Not sure who it was, but my guess is Dienhart is probably referencing that particular report?

Do we want to be part of such a desperate conference? I mean, they just want to get in bed with anybody. At least ND's someone they've gone after for a long time, they can feel special. I feel pretty jilted now. Leading us on like that, tsk tsk.

This doesn't mean that the Big Ten doesn't want Nebraska. A couple months ago, Barry Alvarez mentioned that there were something like 15 schools up for consideration that he knew of. He admitted at the time that Texas was NOT one of them, but from a TV market and program prestige perspective, Texas makes sense, but geographically it doesn't.

I think in Jim Delany's fantasy world, he'd love to add three more prestigious programs to the Big Ten: Notre Dame, Nebraska, Texas. That would mean the Big Ten conference is home of the Top 6 all-time winningest programs in D1 football.

I know...it's just wild all the rumors that are being tossed around right now. And now OU is coming out and saying they think the Big 12 will stay intact. Pretty hard for me to figure out what to think.

The truth of the matter is, we really don't know who they're after for sure until after the Big 10 meetings. I almost bit on this until I saw Vandy. That's absurd. I think the credibility on this is pretty off.

And FWIW, I have no desire to be in a conference with Texass again if we do in fact leave. A bowl game here and there, fine. If NU leaves, breaking all ties with them wouldn't hurt my feelings.

times are changing... can't cling to something just to see everythign around us fade and die... we have to embrace it for our program fans team or whatever..... maybe it'll work out better but whatever happens it can't be worse then being a boise state in a WACsq Big 12 conference if we stay..............

The Texas schools are not going to be in the running, location is not in their favor, it would be too far for Texas fans to to travel to most road games, and vice versa, there are not enough people that would want to travel during the school year to Texas for a game from up north. This is someone dreaming then babbling about their pipe dream.
