If we can hold UDub under 20 points, it may be at least feasible. Because we play 0-12 WKU and South freakin Dakota State, and if we don't shut them both out we don't deserve the #1 scoring D. But if we do, that'll pad the stats a little bit. Plus I don't see KU or KSU's offense racking up big points on us either. It's not likely, but if Bo really does know something we don't about the defense (like he never has before :sarcasm ) maybe it can happen.

That's true. But unless he's dug about 8 diamonds in the rough out of that roster, I think even their fans are going to be skeptical. They lost Reesing, Meier, Briscoe, which has been literally most of their offense for the last 2 years. But who knows. :dunno

That's true. But unless he's dug about 8 diamonds in the rough out of that roster, I think even their fans are going to be skeptical. They lost Reesing, Meier, Briscoe, which has been literally most of their offense for the last 2 years. But who knows. :dunno

I gave up gauging teams by what they lost from last season a long time ago. I don't think Mangino was asleep at the recruiting wheel, he just peaked with that group. A good coach can get a lot out of less-talented players, like Snyder did last year when he came within a game of winning the North with a devastated team.

Let's also remember that we faced six or seven first-year starting QBs last season, so it's not like the 2009 D was going up against a bunch of savvy QBs.

We also faced some pretty good QB's that didn't do too well. Taylor, VT, is rated real high this year. Colt McCoy lost his Heisman against us.

Nick Foles had been touted as one of the best we had seen all year. Goose egg!!! I could care less if we give up more or less, I would like to see us repeat as giving up the least amount and winning back to back defensive scoring awards. That would turn a lot of heads and get us national headlines, and that means more recruits take us seriously.

i just hope nebraska can beat teams like iowa state this year,....if there is one thing i can remember about last years team...is was not the 1 point loss to texas...it was the loose to iowa state.....that loss did real damage to the huskers image last year.

what you lose isn't everything...but it is a good indicater of what you will look like...
