This could make it interesting...if Missouri don't go to the Big 10, then where do they go? I would think that they would be a pretty good fit for the Big 10.

 
They gotta be crapping their pants right now. Along everybody thought it was Mizzou and NU going to the Big ten along with maybe Notre Dame or Pitt.

 
So if Nebraska is the only one to leave, what is keeping Texas from holding the Big 12 together by adding another or three more teams? I think if Missouri is left behind, Texas will be showing their hand by leaving for the Pac 10. This article also says that Oklahoma and OSU are talking to the SEC. I think they would be good fits over there.

You can't tell me that Texas really believes that Nebraska is the cog pin that holds the Conference together...so why should they leave unless they are already pre-disposed to do so?

My thoughts exactly.

Maybe the Kansas senators, chancellor et al will start working over Texas, pleading with them to stay the course.

this is true, but it seems that if mizzou stays in the big 12, the big 12 may be able to pick up a couple of teams, and remain viable if no one else leaves.

 
I live in St. Louis. The Mizzou fans around here are pretty split. Some are seeing that the sky is falling, but the others are in full denial mode claiming that Mizzou to the Big 10 is a "done deal." I hate Mizzou, but it's actually kind of sad to watch those denial fans because you know it's all going to come crashing down for them soon.

They would most likely pick up some Texas programs. If that happens Mizzou would be in a worse position than they've been in since the Big 12 began.

that is also true.

although i, as a fan, am flattered NU will be the first domino to fall and that we have such control; i also feel that UT will blame the demise of the Big XII on NU jumping ship, when it would have remained in tact had NU stayed. UT is already saying things like, "we did everything we could to save the big XII." funny story, UT destroyed the big XII the day they entered it. and i don't see any conference making Arlington home to the conference championship, maybe that should mean something; only the Beebe was spineless enough to have a permanent conference championship in the backyard of the conference's power.

Delaney said he wants "hr" additions and he wants a double check mate. This guy is playing this game at a totally different level and everyone is trying to decipher his moves. There is a massive amount of disinformation, false leaks, etc. out there.

But have no doubt about it, he wants UT. And how do you get UT?

By making UT think that its conference will (justifiably) end soon. Who is the only logical team that can join the B10 and by doing so (besides UT) end the B12. Nebraska. That's it. Everyone has said the league would continue if MU left. But not NU.

So the B10 invites NU. B12 is going to end and UT/A&M are looking for a home. Pac-10 looks decent, but wait, there is this insanely rich league up north that has a monster T.V. contract already in place. It doesn't need to be built from the ground up or renegotiated (like the P-10). It is already in place, which means immediate buckets of cash.

Tough choice for UT.

So maybe UT goes for the $$$, maybe it doesn't

But Delaney is playing a game of chess. That's the only way to understand it.
