Big Ten Need To Know

Welcome to HuskerBoard abox03.

What's good with you, Caven? Haven't seen you around much these past couple days.
Been reading it all on both boards - but due to an outbreak of stupid chest beating on both boards I have just been lurking so as to not say something that I will be sorry to have committed to writing. I figure it will all calm down soon and the people that are just showing up to spout off but don't actually participate will be gone. I am working up a full map showing parking, tailgating and places of note in the Iowa City area to post once this is all actually official. Don't want to jinx things at the last minute :)

I hear ya. Looking forward to the map though. PM me when you finish it.

First of all...as an Ohio State fan, it's great to welcome some competition into the conference!! Just kidding to my B10 brethren. There are some things you should know about each team...I saw a list previously, but wanted to start a new topic. Feel free to comment or add on it as you see fit.

Michigan: Where to begin. Arrogant. They think they are above the rest of the conference. The big house is...big...but not very loud and resembles a large hole in the ground. In a bit of peril right now with RichRod, but they wont be down forever. OSU v Michigan is big, even if they CLAIM that MSU is bigger.

Some of us are arrogant, this is true, in fact there is a facebook group about it, but not all. In fact most of us are pretty humble now, given the current state of the Maize and Blue. Also we view osu as our main rival, hence calling MSU 'little brother', there is a great wiki page on The Game.

But if you're in the neighborhood, you should definitely come see the renovated Big House.

Nebraska knows the feeling of being "humbled" so we know what you're going through.

Penn State: Yankees.

Ohio State: Yankees who worship nuts.

Michigan: Arrogant yankees with annoying accents.

MSU: Yankees with annoying accents

Indiana: Yankees who can't play football.

Purdue: Yankees who drive trains.

Northwestern: Purple yankees.

Illinois: No chief yankees.

Wisconsin: Husker wannabe midwesterners.

Minneosta: Raised BB court midwesterners.

Iowa: Aggrivating midwesterners.

;)
Have one for Nebraska? :)
Classy midwesterners.

I really don't like to badmouth any fan-base other than M*ch*gan, but think of Penn State as the place where Philadelphia sports fans go to college. Utterly classless. Rabid fans? Sure. Great tradition? Yep. Great stadium? One of the best. But the fans... I would sooner buy a drink for a Wolverine than a Nittany Lion.

Also, I'm not an Ohio native, but I get the feeling that Ohio is a step after Texas in terms of regional jingoism. Ohioans are really crazy about being from Ohio, and a lot of people can take that the wrong way.

Yes, we most certainly do. Nothing like the Callahan years to bring us back down to earth.
