Oh okay so the last 10 years matters, just not the last 13? The masses remember the past decade but "if any of that matters" from 97 now "we're kidding ourselves." What a joke. And I also don't recall Iowa winning a Heisman or playing for a championship this decade.I'm just saying we aren't going to be playing any of your national championship teams from the 90's, or any of Tom Osborns teams for that matter. If anyone honsetly any of that matters now you are kidding yourself. Both Iowa and Nebby have had solid teams the last 10 years or so, teams that have very similar records. We share a border, we do have a little tradition ourselves. It's going to be one hell of a rivalry, and a lot of fun.
I personally think the last 10 years (which is really all the masses will remember) we have been the better program, but I'd expect a good portion of you would disagree with me. If you come into the B10 expecting a cake walk you are going to be sorely dissapointed. But enough of that, lets get back to this rivalry game thing.
We don't got no d*** rivalsDear lord not another forced "rivalry"...
Your national title game was 13 years ago. Your incomming freshman were 5 years old when that game was played. They don't remember one damn snap. The joke is that Nebby will come in with thier 4 national titles and 4th winningest team in college football history and dominate because they have 4 national titles and are the 4th winningest team in college football. Ask scUM what tradition alone gets you in the B10 (I'll give you a hint, it's 1 and 7 in the conference).Oh okay so the last 10 years matters, just not the last 13? Ignorant to the past perhaps because yours is unmatching?Your national title game was 13 years ago. Your incomming freshman were 5 years old when that game was played. Congratulations on your storied past. That along with your academic standing and your other athletic prowess helped you get the invite. But now that you are here get in line. Your history in college football means something between Jack and sh#t and Jack left town. That being said were damn happy to have you.
PS I really don't think you want to get in the argument of who matters more in the last decade. No titles and no Heisman's but in the last 10 years we have finished in the top 10 four times, had an AP player of the year, a Doak Walker award winner, a Mackey award winner, an Outland Trophy winner, one Heisman runner up, and one 6th place finish.
While I agree with you about not being able to force rivalries before playing year in and year out and having it be a game of importance and history and usually at least somewhat close to even.Ignorant to the past perhaps because yours is unmatching?Your national title game was 13 years ago. Look u can't force a rivalry... especially if its unbalanced, and that's in every category.
Please tell me y u think one of the most prestigious programs in the nation with 5 ncs and 3 Heismans should settle for a program with no titles, on Heisman for the 30s er something, and who have relatively had no success against us? Do u not remember what happened in our last game, 42-13 right?
U must remember our last main rival was 7 NC, 5 Heisman ou right?
Sorry but for Nebraska fans the word rivalry has huge implacations.
I like how you completely ignored the point about how you said the past 10 years is all anyone remembers, but not the past 13. You do realize how idiotic that sounds, right? Let me know when you want to answer that because I'd love to hear how people conveniently remember 10 years but not 13.Your national title game was 13 years ago.
