Damn right were excited for that game, both teams could be undefeated coming into it. Well maybe not Texas because OU will probably put a whoopin' on em.

 
Of course we're going to be excited for that game. That's why he refused to play on a Thursday.

Oh man, where are my manners. I forgot how conscientious Mack Brizzy is about his student athletes and their academics...my bad everybody.

Why play on Thursday when most of the country watches college football on Saturday. Either way it's a national game.

Because the ratings for Thursday night games are generally very impressive and I'm fairly sure universities get some type of extra benefit for putting that game during the week like that.

Either way, it's pretty obvious why Mack Brown did not want the game on a Thursday night. He didn't want to give Nebraska fans any more reason to be jacked up about playing Texas (not like we really need it). There are other universities with much more strict academic standards that make long trips on Thursday nights. So, unless the Texas athletic department thinks their players are incapable of keeping their grades up, then it is fairly clear why they would reject a Thursday night game.

 
Isn't the national media just wonderful? They take this tiny little 2 minute(?) video and turn it into T.O. wants to give Texas to Mexico. ESPN will create a story where there is none.
