What I don't get is how would leaking that expansion plan make Nebraska want to stay even more? Wouldn't it just make the conference seem more unstable?

I'm guessing that's exactly what they wanted.

It doesn't seem like they were trying to keep the Big 12 together then.

I agree, and I have felt that way for a long time. tu was tired of NU attempting to bring sanitay back into the Big 12 and tried a power play.

tu asked for NU to proclaim its allegiance to the Big 12, even though they themselves would not. If they REALLY wanted to keep the Big 12 together as it was, this ploy was either really stupid, or really arrogant. Seeing that it is Texas, I would bet that it was a combination of the two.

And now Texa$$ is all butthurt over us winning this battle. Like I have said before, they needed us much more than we needed them.

I agree with the sentiment, but from what I read Texas DID sign the agreement. Its just that they have absolutely no trouble wiping their butt with any agreement they sign IF they get $1.35 in more money.
