Am I Missing Something?

M I K E

Five-Star Recruit
I was sitting in traffic on my way back from class and noticed this van's plates. If you can't see, the license plate says "OCT 17". However, isn't the Texas game on the 16th? I must be missing out on something, because there is no way anyone is that stupid.

M I K E, I trust you were turning left to get your AM Starbucks, yes?

Perhaps this person is an NFL fan, or perhaps that's their anniversary or child's birthday or something. :dunno

Haha nice call on the location. I suppose the expressway is a dead giveaway. However, I was unfortunately not going to starbucks.

Anyway, upon further research I have discovered that October 17th is Edge Day. Apparently, its a holiday that people celebrate for being straight-edge. That must be it.

Do people still describe themselves as straight edge? That's cool. I remember when the movement first started back in the olden days of the 80s.

Skating is not a crime!

EDIT - and likely the guy/gal driving that vehicle is my age. Why else would you have a Husker plate celebrating S/E on a minivan? Old fart punk rockers, for the win! :thumbs
