Husker signs

Rep The 402

Special Teams Player
So I know this is really random but I thought I would share it with you guys. This is officially going to be my first full college football game watching experience season with my dad EVER. I've lived with my mom for 18 years and now I live with my dad. My dad is a HUGE Oklahoma fan. My dad and I make these Wooden signs with a saw dust thing (im a girl, i know nothing about tools and their names, just how to use it) he made an OU one and paited it and I made a big N one. Now were going to put them out in the yard the first game of the season and whose ever team loses any week has to have their teams sign takin' out of the yard. I know its lame, but I just thought I'd share and would love to hear other people's stories about how they spent the game seasons or did anything special during football season with their father or a family member.

I don't think that's lame. i think it's cool.

we used to set up a 'projector screen' (remember those from about 1988?) and invite about 30 people over and watch the games on the white wall. compared to todays 55' HD, I can't believe that was considered some prime viewing, lol...

i'm lucky cuz my dad has season tix, so this year we taking 3 generations to the Texass game.

Well I know I dont remember them. I was born in 1991 haha. But thats cool too! And it has to be even cooler having a dad that has season tickets.

Never had anything fun like that with my old man. But i do get wierd looks and stares when I put out my Tiger signs in Omaha. :dunno

Very cool.

Haha don't worry. I live In Alton, IL. Which is about 20 minutes from St. Louis. People here are mainly Missouri fans and I used to have a Nebraska decal on the back of my car and I've gotten the middle finger a couple times. Should be interesting when Nebraska plays I will be having my car flag flying around while delivering pizza's. I have a feeling im not going to get tipped on game day.

Not lame at all! I think it's awesome. My sons have both recently moved in with me after living with their mom for years. It's great you and him have found a way to connect! Here's hoping to many great memories with your father :thumbs

awh, the heck with them. Love your team no matter where you are. Fly your flags, and rep your big red. People in STL are pricks any ways. :laughpound

I do think it will be fun for you and your dad to do that. Something you can do together and have a little fun with. I think its a neat idea :thumbs

Great story 402! :cheers <---- Here's to hoping both of those signs stay in the front yard all the way until the Big XII Championship game! :w00t

Heck yes! thats what im hoping for. Whether we make it to a BCS or NC game, it would not be right to not play Oklahoma for our last game in the Big 12.

I think that is awesome! When I was growing up, my dad and I used to watch the games together. He was the one who taught me that once a Husker Always a husker even if you move out of Nebraska. I watched my last Husker game with my dad last fall when we lost to VA Tech. BUT, it was a lasting memory as my dad died right be Thanksgiving. Right before the funeral, I pinned to his suit a pin that said, Once A Husker Always a Husker. I also have that pin stuck to my mirror so that I see it every morning when I put my make up on. So, ENJOY making many memories with your dad this year even if he is an OK fan! Could be worse, he could be a UT fan!

This year a couple of my friends and I are going going to build a 10' wide Texas longhorn logo from plywood and hang it upside down from the facade on his house in the North Bottoms (neighborhood a few blocks north of the stadium, Lincoln students and residents know what I'm talking about)

Anyone around the bottoms on gameday, come find it on New Hampshire street and ask for the Moose!

Ha ha! Great story.

Just make sure the NU sign is a couple inches taller than the OU sign. :bigredn:
