Heisman Trophy Winner
Lavonte David

It seemed like that kid was everyfreakinwhere last night. I didn't see the final totals, but they showed him as having 13 tackles beginning of the 4th quarter.

Agreed, David was all over the place last night. Kinnie I thought had a nice game last night too. I was very unimpressed with the defense in the 2nd half. But I read in the paper Whaley was in charge of the calls/adjustments made last night since he replaced Compton. So i give the defense a little bit of a pass this week.

No agrument here. Lavonte David was out to prove a point, that he play. Maybe we should pickup more JUCO kids?

I was unimpressed with Ricky Henry and the Offensive Line. I was expecting complete domination in the trenches, and no penatlies such as holding and false start.

David reminded me of Demarrio Williams out there. He has a nact for where the ball is at all times.

Impressed: Rex Burkhead running like his life depended on it. Martinez surprised EVERYBODY with his running ability in an actual game and his 3 TD's. LaVonte David was everywhere and played like he was possessed.

Unimpressed: Defense in the 2nd half cause they seemed to slack off and got way to comfortable. Offensive line allowing WKU to man handle them at times. TURNOVERS both Paul and PJ Smith were holding the ball like it was a plastic sack with baby poo in it. Tuck that ball under your armpit and close to your chest while running with the football.

Other than that it was great to absorb the atmosphere again and can't wait till next weeks game. The Huskers played a good game yesterday but there are areas to improve on which our Huskers will accomplish this season.

I was very impressed with the o-line. Besides I think one penalty and a sack they played very well and left some nice holes for Burkhead and everyone else to run through.

I wasnt very pleased by the rush D. Only one sack and it seemed like Rainey was getting 5 yards with every run.

thank you thank you thank you. That puts the nail on the head. Now everyone who's WORRIED about the d can shutup. When they play with urgency you have the first 2 series (3 and outs)

I was impressed with Martinez on offense and David on defense, and I was more or less "disappointed" in Paul than unimpressed with him and also "disappointed" with the linebacker play in general.

Paul had a drop and a fumble last night, which is why I was disappointed in him. That type of inconsistency hurt us last year a la Texas Tech and Iowa State. And the linebackers had a tough time making corrections and calls last night. But, I will temper my judgments simply because they were both not supposed to be starters. And, according to the coaches, had to take crash course training Thursday through Friday in order to prepare after Compton's injury.

Impressed with: Martinez speed and poise and his passing is about where I thought it would be, the deep ball was a little forced and rushed but that will come with time, I think Kinne played very well and quiet, I think he is a good 3rd down blanket, I thought Cody Green looked good on his Touchdown pass to Niles had some nice touch, Lavonte David was everywhere, Gomes with another great strip play, our defensive ends looked alright, Crick got a good hit on their QB.

Dissappointed: Rush defense. Linebacker play besides David. We kept falling for misdirection, counter and power plays. Where in gods name is Mike McNeill? A few drops on offfense. Niles and PJ Smith fumble, Gomes had a dropped pick, and unfortunately Meredith being hurt, I hope he will be okay. The pass rush seemed a little weak too I thought.

Hopefully we were just play vanilla bcause if we take on a good balanced or good rushing team, we could be in for a fight.

Also forgot to add Marlowe, he looked good out there returning kicks and the jet sweep carry that he got.

Yeah, I was watching the game w/ some friends that aren't big college football fans.

The consensus thought after seeing him, "damn, he's fast"

McNeil was in the game more than a handful of times.. However, they almost always used him as a blocker... why even move him from TE imo.
