What other red-shirts get burned?

Assistant Coach
We had four guys play last week from the 2010 recruiting class——Lavonte David, Ciante Evans, Quincy Enunwa and Yoshi Hardrick (not sure if both jucos had a RS available).

What other Redshirts get burned this year?
MAYBE, chase rome and corey cooper. Andrew Rodriguez already burned his as well.

I thought about Chase Rome. You know how long he is out?

Didn't know Andrew Rodriguez got in there.

I doubt Rome sees playing time this year considering the depth we have established. With the injury bug to our LB's I could see Cooper getting some PT if we need to shuffle some people on D to fill in for LB roles. Lets just hope both can keep their shirts.

Rodriguez actually did pretty darn good for a true freshman. Rome just has nagging injuries.

We're building some good depth at O-line. Which we haven't had for several years now.

Our O-line depth is going to be nice going into the Big10. We should be able to run on just about anyone no matter who the RB is. I am pretty excited to see them develope.

Rome's elbow continues to be a problem and we have fairly solid depth right now at the tackle position. I'm thinking if it continues for another week or two they're just going to try and save his redshirt.

I could see Corey Cooper getting PT, like aspeedlin said. What about Baptiste--does he have a RS available?

My guess as to who we may see play are really only Cooper and Rome and I think it is like a 25% chance they play. Rome has the size, skill and mindset, but with his injuries and the depth of the four or five in front of him I don't really see it unless he really starts impressing in practice or there are injuries. Cooper is pretty much in the same boat. With Ricky T, Gomes, West, Cassidy, PJ, and even Haag to some extent there is a lot of experience and talent ahead of him, so I can't really see it happening either. However, I was shocked to see Ciante out there Saturday.

SO the best bet I believe for a newcomer to play is JSB at WR. He has no redshirt to burn and the coaches love his speed. But if he can't block and it ain't clicking upstairs we all know Gilmore won't let him see the field.
