KC Star Beat Writers Predictions

Husker Z

Five-Star Recruit
Every one picks the Huskers and none are within 10 points.

Even the KSU beat writer sees it the way most of us do, ksu just doesn't have the talent or the depth to win this game, without us beating ourselves with turnovers. They MIGHT keep it close for a half, but I see us wearing them out and manhandling them the second half, maybe sooner.

I'm nervous about this game. It'll be a tough road test against a solid K. State school. Sadly, my gut tells me we will lose to K. State and Texas. I'm not sure why I feel that way but I think it has to do with our unbalanced offense. Until T-Mart starts throwing the ball better and we mix it up, I think we might struggle a little bit.

We mix it up plenty. We have 3 guys that can all run the ball with regularity. :)

It will take a turnover fest on the part of NU to lose.

I'm even on board with taking the ball out of Magic's hands and letting Roy/Rex run loose. You can count on it that Snyder will have a decent scheme for Martinez (although ksu has a HORRIBLE time stopping mobile QB's) but that will open up our two VERY fresh running backs.

I also like our chances with our bigger WR's/TE's on their DB's. Get them the ball on short, safe throws, which TM has shown to be above average at, at times. Open it up just a bit and we SHOULD gash them with the running game, their run D is pi** poor.

Snyder is building KSU to be able to compete again.. but he's still a year or two away from having a real threat to be a spoiler. Talent is lacking and what talent is there simply isn't fast enough on either side of the ball and especially on defense.
