so what about UT?

I haven't seen much of this years longhorns other than a few series against OU.

What's going to be the biggest struggle for NU in this game?

Just a hunch, but look for special teams to play a big time role in this game.

I may be in the minority here, but I don't think special teams will have anything to do with this game. I think our Oline will control the pace of the game, and they won't be able to to anything about it. Our defense will leave them with no options to put points up on the board.

I think the struggle for NU is just to get up early with a few big plays. If not, I think they are in for a dogfight. It will be so much better for the Huskers if they don't have to force Martinez to pass. Also, keeping UT at third and 5+ will be important. It really is where Nebraska's defense is the best.

Im wondering if they try to mix it up on D to confuse Taylor with blitz/show blitz and coverage disguises.
If Texas knows anything about football, you do this regardless of who you are playing ;)
True, i guess i meant to say that im anxious to see what the try to do to stop us, i know every team does this, i want to see how texas tries to do it differently as they try to avoid a three game losing streak.

Exactly, will be interesting.

When is the last time UT lost 3 straight?

I believe never under Mack Brown, but I could be "misremembering."

99, they lost their last 3 of the season including the bowl game IIRC

You're right and I was wrong

There is more bad news for Texas and its fans. It has lost two games in a row and has a bye week before facing No. 7 Nebraska. The Longhorns have not lost three games in a row since the end of the 1999 season.

If we play a clean game TX will not win. They have lost to teams worse than us and are vulneralble, this is a case of talent not resulting in victory. We play the game for a reason but this is the year that we should we. Last year does not matter but to be simple we are much better and they are much worse than last year.

Nebraska has had some nice wins but to me this is the "Contender or Pretender Game" I think we are the real deal.

I'm may be the chicken little type. But I've watched most every snap out of Texas this year and I'm not convinced they are not still a very good football team. Perhaps even top 10-15..

They just keep killing themselves. Penalties when they get a stop that keeps a drive going. Dropped passes by wide open receivers..

A few things cleaned up here or there and they could have won both the games they lost..

It wouldn't suprise me in the least to see a bye week "re-birth" of Texas on Saturday. I think we beat Texas regardless as we're the better team even if they're not killing themselves with stupid mistakes. But, imo, it would be as wrong to look at Texas's losses any differently than our losses to VT and Iowa st. last year. 1 game vs. a very good opponent where we should have won. And one clunker vs. a bad team we bumbled away.

My 2 cents anyways.

Agree with the post above. UCLA took advantage of short fields created by UT turnovers. In no way whatsoever did they dominate the Whorns except turnover margin. The thing that the game did show was that Texas will quit. Watch the fourth quarter of that game and you'll see one uninspired team just wanting to get off the field. Boomer is Jeckyll and Hyde. They have their moments of greatness followed by a half of Clownahanish football at it's best. They outplayed Texas for the majority of the game but let them back in it as well.

That being said, this game will be won with this battle: NU OLine vs. the UT DLine. I am not 100% sold on our line yet. This will be their ultimate test. Sirles better grow up fast because Mr. Acho might be the best he'll see for a while. If we cannot get a consistant push up front it could be a very long afternoon if Taylor has to throw against the second best secondary in the nation to NU's. Their speed will pose a serious problem when ew try to run the stretch plays and will limit big, huge runs. Barney may earn his paycheck on Saturday or I will continue doubting him.

Their o line still is poor their line aint built for the run game, not saying they cant run the ball thoe. I think david and crick will have a good game. I hope they dont try to run the ball becuzz if they do david will be their to stop it.I do think they will test prince alott thoe so I hope hes ready. If its a close game it will only be because their D is keeping them in the game.I say we throw quick passes and try to get the roll out going because their gonna be targeting taylor anyways so that might open up some big plays with him either throwing the ball or making big plays with his feet
