this is not on point, but i was thinking today. first, knapplc, you did not mention gomes as a nfl caliber team, but i think he is, your thoughts?

and, what about lavonte david. the man is a straight baller, but he is too undersized to be an nfl lb, but would a team have room for him, could he be a safety? it is unfortunate if his talent was wasted because of a lack of a position for a player of his size.

The only problem I can see is that we've so far proven to be good at taking away what an opponent is best at. Against Idaho we shut down their aerial attack. Against Washington it was more of the same. Against KSU we shut down their ground game.

What are we going to do when we face a team that isn't any good at anything? Could be trouble. :sarcasm

I think we did, on paper at least, and if memory serves they were called the Jackrabbits from SDSU.....

No no you need to read the article again He said it's all because the training wheels were still on. Once Gilbert is unleashed he'll easily throw for 500 saturday. I really hope we win the toss so we can defer and send them 3 and out with great field position and a quick score...

What I got out of this:

DJ Monroe is a third year sophomore who doesn't know the playbook.

Is this a sign of players being lazy, stupid, or has Texas changed the playbook that much in the offseason? With the coaching continuity, I can't imagine that the offense has changed that much in Texas' run-themed experiment.

Let's hope there are several members of the defense who are still learning the playbook too.
