Our Next Two Games

Texas seems like the tougher match up.

Texas has the fastest/best D that we'll see in the Big XII this year and our offense has yet to play a top tier defense. In terms of intangibles, Texas is fired up not to lose 3 in a row, we have everything to lose, they have everything to win, etc.

The game against Okie State could potentially be a top 5 vs top 15 match up if each team wins this week. OSU has a prolific offense and a bad defense, which seems to be a better scenario for us- our strong D neutralizing their offense and our offense exploiting their bad D.

That said, a win at an undefeated OSU seems like it will affect our ranking more than win against unranked Texas at home, even though this weekend's matchup seems much more difficult...

I agree completely. I'm not worried about OSU. We won't impress anyone against Texas unless it's a blow out.

Let's get thru today and then worry about the rest! :throwdabones1:
Agreed. Today's task is the only thing to be looking at. This Texas team would probably roll Aggie and the Zoo. This is a wounded dog in the corner NU faces today.

Agreed x2. But at the end of the day, they're just not that good. We beat them on offense and defense. If the football gods have finally changed their stripes and we get a lucky break or two, it'll get ugly for UT. Even barring that, we win a close contest on the strength of our run game vs. the obvious weakness of theirs.

I'd take this "weakness" of theirs anyday of the week. You do realize Texas is a top 20 run defense and take away the second half against UCLA they give up 2 yards a tote. And it is not like we have been running all over the Steel Curtain, today we find out how good our line is and maybe Barney will earn that paycheck

That's nothing A&M is complete crap. Jerrod Johnson has taken about 15 steps backwards.
Except Misery's defense looks fast. Unless we can learn to throw and CATCH the ball between now and then, it will look like today. Unfortunately we will have to use our run game with T mart against okie lite and then face Misery having to throw. not Good

Umm....yeah and San Diego State's running game said that too. In a game in Columbia. Smoke and mirrors brotha, much like our OLine. Be more weary of Okie Lite in Stillwater then the Zou in Lincoln.

Well, the weakness I was referring to was their running game, not running defense. Still, I've gotta eat crow here. We couldn't get anything done with our running game. In the end, it was fumbles and dropped passes that cost us the game. But our running game sure didn't do anything much and was anything but a strength today. I don't feel like their offense did much of anything either. But as improbable as it seemed to me before now, ours was worse. Who would have called Gilbert Grape out-running Martinez today? Sigh................

The only way to beat texas as a team like nebraska is to get their defense to bite on the fakes and blow coverage.

Even if they do, they won't give you a lot of yards because their players are all so fast. It's what happens when your state's top highschool team could be a top 25 bcs team. ;)

My bad bro, couldn't really see your logic with what I had thought you were going with. However, Texas' run defense showed up today and was just as dominant as I was fearing.
