I just got word from a media outlet in Lincoln that a University of Minnesota plane is at the Lincoln airport. Irronic after they just fired their head coach a couple of days ago. Who they after? Maybe Cos is coming back. haha

I'm sure a lot of people will be hoping that it's for Watson, however, if he leaves, look for a few recruits to jump ship as well and some good ones!

Minnesota has come out an said they want a well established head coach, the hiring of an offensive cord, blew up in their face.

Did anybody else hear that, in referring to Brewster and the search for the new head coach for the Gophers, the Minnesota AD made a statement along the lines of, "it's not like we're replacing Vince Lombardi here."?

That probably isn't going to entice candidates to eagerly pursue a working relationship with said AD. Then again, a head coaching position in a BCS conference is probably incentive enough.

Well, not for a guy like, say, Tony Dungy. There are probably some coordinators out there, though... :)

just a general question. would you rather be an oc at NU or head coach at minn.? i think i would go with the former, but i understand the appeal of being a head coach of a team in a major conference.

Time to go gopher hunting? Somebody call Carl Spackler (caddyshack) tell him to get his equipment together! :laughpound

:snacks: :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

They could also very well be going for Carl. He has been a major player in the resurgence of the Nebraska defense and has had two greats years of proof. Defensive coaches have been having overwhelming success recently (see Saban and Pelini).

My first thought was Carl. Generally speaking if that day would ever come I would really hate to see him leave. :ahhhhhhhh

I just cant see Carl leaving at this point in his tenure, hopefully I am wrong.
