Nobody is going anywhere...if we lost watson...we would be taking 2 steps back...and probably losing top recruits from comming here

Kansas would be stupid to let Gill go after this season. He's a good coach. If you can win at Buffalo, you're a good coach. He inherited a sh*# storm there in Kansas. Nobody could have turned it around in one season. This isn't fanboyism, I wasn't a Husker (football) fan until the Tommie Frazier era. It would only make the Kansas job even less appealing to fire him after 1 year.

If Kansas is dumb enough to let him go though, it would be a DREAM to have him as our OC. I remember dreaming about it last year and knowing it just wasn't possible. Now it doesn't seem so impossible.

Turnbo Gillini again? It won't happen. KU will give Gill 4-5 years. As pathetic as they've played thus far, I'm still scratching my head over the Georgia Tech win. Mangino overachieved at Kansas. With the new round robin format in the Big 12, I don't see KU having much/any success.

Based on what evidence? And how do you know that a new O coordinator wouldn't bring in even better recruits? I think some people are seriously overvaluing Watts's reputation as a top notch OC, ie: that he is one....

Chewbacca does not like your argument very much


 
There's no way Cotton gets his hands on the OC job again. Although Watson has mostly been stuck at average, give him credit for at least finding a spark here and there (like 08 when he actually had a good QB and receiving corps). Cotton's offense in '03 was bordering on criminal... we had one of the best athletes in school history at QB and our offense was 89th in total yards. He did manage the rare accomplishment of making Solich look like a genius though. :corndance

I know Bo likes Barney, but some higher power (be it big boosters, TO or God) would have to step in and veto if Bo ever seriously considered such a boneheaded move.
