I don't think it was a fake punt. It was a read punt Probably not officially, but Alex was doing a rugby punt and saw all that space and took off. Then again, maybe that was part of the fake - do we usually do Rugby punts?

He looked to be reading it the whole way. I'm guessing it was a case of telling him to go into his motion for the punt, but read if there was a chance to run for the first down. So yeah, not a true fake, more of a "go for the fake if it's there, but don't screw us".
