Why does FSN bid $2 Million and ESPN $12 Million?

Wow, why would they bid so much higher than FSN? I still don't understand why you would pay them 12 million a year to run the network. Can they actually get that back from ads or any other revenue from it? The Big 12 is doomed. So glad we are out of it.

Why does FSN bid $2 Million and ESPN $12 Million?

It makes no sense. Why would anyone give Texas their own tv channel? Outside of Texas fans, does anyone actually watch them play? and the reported bidding gap between FSN and ESPN makes even less sense. Why would ESPN outbid them by that much?

Makes no sense at all. Even UT thought it would be around 3 million a year, why 12? I think this accelerates them going independent....

I think the sports world is moving in this direction though. There's YES, Big10, BYU... Teams that think they are better off retaining control of their product.
