i went over to the isu board yesterday to say grats on the great game....i read some of their venom before i had a chance to register and decided i wouldn't waste my time.

Did anyone catch the post game report on Channel 7 (ABC) on Cox here in Omaha? They went to Ames for the live report after the game and 2 or 3 guys made their way towards the front of the crowd that was behind the reporter. They were wearing 'Breathe if you hate Nebraska' shirts and mock breathing in and out.

Have we ever made a 'hate' t-shirt for any school? Even Texas?

P a t h e t i c . . . .
Sadly there were Texas sucks t-shirts being sold around tailgating sites. I didn't like it and a reason why I didn't buy one. On another note ISU fans hate everybody.

To judge an entire fan base by the actions of a couple of individuals is stupid.

To pass judgement on events you know nothing about is even dumber.
I went to Iowa State and had season tickets while I was in school. I've been to a couple of ISU-NU games in Ames since that time wearing NU gear. 95% of the fans I encountered were good sports and and had good things to say about NU. That being said I wasn't sitting next to you yesterday, but I have a hard time believing that the entire fan base of ISU has turned into complete jerks.

I drove down to this game and didn't have any problems. I was completely ignored by ISU fans before and after the game, but during the game I sat in the grassy area with other Nebraska fans. We did our best to be loud during overtime since we were on that side of the field.

Anyway, I didn't have any problems at all, and the most ribbing I saw was done by a Nebraska fan after the game. It was done by a few Nebraska fans who must attend ISU because they were in a dorm balcony with a megaphone blaring GOOOOO BIIIIIG REEEED!!!! at ISU fans on the way back to there cars. It was actually kindof funny, and when one of the ISU fans threw something at the balcony, one of the students got on the megaphone and said "Hey, relax, you lost, go home." I suppose these guys take have taken some ribbing going to ISU after last year, so perhaps they earned this. IDK. In any case, great win, and from what I saw, ISU fans were OK by me.

I never said they were all bad.

I doubt the "95% of the fans" you encountered was

a statistically valid sample.

Take the anecdotal reports and draw your own conclusions.

Passing judgement on people who make the reports is stupid.

:WTH

Are you saying that one experience gives people the right to judge an entire fan base?
Where did I state that?

But while were on it, people have the "right"

to form any opinion they choose.

Just as I have the right to form an opinion of you based on

your hyperjudgemental "holier-than-thou" posts.

My initial statement wasn't directed at you, it just happened to be under your post.

I am making no judgements about anyone here, I'm saying that the statement, "ISU fans are idiots" is stupid if you are basing it on a couple of incidents. Are there ISU jerk fans? Sure. Are there crappy Husker fans? Sure.

Well that clears things up.

Using that as a criterion, how can we form an opinion on anything?

We should just see reality as a progression of unrelated random events,

taking care to draw no conclusions for fear of stereotyping.

Political correctness run amok.

Sounds great!

No thanks. I prefer to use my personal experiences as a guide

to future actions. Label that any way you want.

You can judge a person based on statements that that person makes.

If you were to judge all of Huskerboard because of the statements of one person would be idiotic.

Perhaps a more interesting question is your apparent need to find and label

entire groups of people "stupid" and "idiotic".

Deep seated feelings of inferiority? Rejection by your mother?

How can we really know anything....

I was in the student section wearing Nebraska clothing, along with a bunch of other Nebraska fans. The student section seriously chanted "F Nebraska" about every five minutes. They did more bashing on Nebraska than supporting their own team. I found it laughable and pathetic at the same time.

 Tis true... The funny thing was they were trying to sell them after the game for $5, I was walking next to some Texas fans and this guy is shouting "Texas still sucks! Get your t-shirts." The Texas fan could tell I was a little embarrassed by it, and kind of laughed, I said I would buy him one to use for washing his car, he smiled and turned me down. Although in hind sight it was very prophetic...

HUSKERCR, your argument is that a small sampling of incidents should characterize an entire fan base. Perhaps that is not what you mean, but that is how your argument is being analyzed. Generalizations make people off as ignorant.

With this being the case, there is nothing here about political correctness. You have an opinion that I disagree with. That doesn't mean I'm judgemental, it just means I think you're wrong. I have a right to disagree with an opinion with being insulted, and so does every one else.

So, perhaps you should keep people's mothers and personalities out of this if you're struggling to come up with better retorts.
