Lots of common history between Stoops and Snyder. Both were assistants under Hayden Fry at Iowa. Stoops also was an assistant under Snyder at K-State along with his brother Bob.

 
i asked this somewhere else, but i will ask it again. if we win out until the ccg, but lose the ccg, will we still get an invite to a bcs bowl game?

Its possible we get an at large. Depends on what happens ahead of us. Our fans travel very well and the selection commity know this and takes it into consideration when picking teams on selection day.

 
The story line would have to be pretty good, too. BCS selection is also about what they can sell to a national TV audience. A two-loss (or even three-loss) Nebraska team isn't as sexy as a one-loss AQ school from the SEC because we're not a story right now. If we play a fantastic game and get robbed of a win because of some officiating gaffe, that could get us a BCS berth with two losses.

We're also going to have to lose to a top-ten team, and in a close or at the least very exciting game.

 
I think the Stanford/Oklahoma State game will be interesting.

I would not be happy about our match up, but tickets should be pretty easy to get. I will be there if that happens and have another tail gate for all of you that make to the game.

We fed close to 200 at the Holiday Bowl so make plans, you will have a place to hang out.

In my opinion, no chance at all. There are too many other 1-loss teams out there.

 
if we play pitt, i hope they get trev alberts and mark may to call the game. those guys had such a good rapport with one another.

There are a lot of 1-loss teams right now, but many of them won't be one loss come bowl selection time. Regardless, Nebraska travels better than just about any school in the nation, and I would be surprised if they weren't considered for a BCS Bowl. Hopefully this discussion will be irrelevant and we'll win the rest of our games though!

I will laugh my a-- off if neither Texas nor Notre Dame makes it to a bowl!!!

Then I'll shed a little tear because we still couldn't beat em this year...
