Alex Henery is up for the Rudy award and it's open voting here

The awards is reserved for players who bring "something extra" to the team.

Says the awards committee, which began handing out the honors in 2007:

"Rudy wanted to find the most inspirational and motivational players in America who best defined what he refers to as "The Four C's": Character, Courage, Contribution & Commitment."

 
Alex needs to get his GPA up lol

hrm...i dont know if this award exactly fits henery. seems to me its more geared for a guy that doesnt quite contribute on the field but is still integral to team chemistry and has overcome a lot personally.

alex was a walk on, sure, but turned down a soccer scholarship to creighton to do so and has been a scholarship athlete for several years now. hes a star.

not sure how i feel about husker nation milking this poll to just get alex some piece of hardware that maybe someone else would be more deserving of. i mean, have you read some of the bio's of past winners and finalists? geesh.

 
Wondering the same thing i have done a few or fifty cant really remember. It would help if they had a counter like the espn one had last year.

 
while i love every award every husker gets, i dont know if Alex is the best candidate for this award. for the "rudy", the stats dont matter, so Henery is over qualified in that category. if any husker should be nominated, i'd think it would be Joe Broekemeier.
