The B10 is getting run

This really doesnt prove anything......

Could we beat Michigan and Northwestern right now.... probably. Penn State and Iowa.... maybe. Ohio State and Wisconsin no freakin way.

The teams that beat the BigTen schools would beat Nebraska handly right now.

I guess I'm one of the few that isnt and never has been worried about Big 10 competition. it's obvious we play up to it more than not. Ive said it from the beginning that we're gonna win our typical 9-10 games and maybe even play for the championship. Big 10 is good, but the fact they have 3 teams in the top and is very competitive is nothing out of the universe. Perception of how good or bad a conference is in a particular year is so clouded that i dont even pay attention. Big 12 this year? Supposedly it's bad because texas is down and no one was in the title picture at the end. Well my response to that is that the Big 12 was just extremely balanced and we beat up on each other. You have 1 or 2 really good teams that run away with the conference while the rest are mediocre at best, and all a sudden it's a great year for the conference (every year in the SEC)?

Watching TCU against Wisconsin it's obvious we dont have to worry about the "physical" play of the Big 10. Remember the Missouri/Iowa game? Didnt look to me like Iowa beat up Missouri to god awful bad. I just think everyone's a bit too worried about it.

I am watching these games, jealous that we are not in a jan bowl game, playing good football againt a good team. Just sick about our turn of events. Just sick about it. I hope our team is too. Getting a good dose of how bad this s*#t tastes. 4 points from 2 big 12 championships and bcs appearances.4 very big points...

Hopefully our coaching staff is watching Wisconsin and taking notes! Especially Barney Cotton
To a degree. Why you don't continue to pound the rock on your two point conversion when you just drove the length of the field doing so....the game on the line and you need two yards and you want to use the weaker part of your offense (IE pass blocking which was getting torn apart in that fourth quarter)...

I know the guy was open and the play was there but your line could've gotten those two yards...instead the ball gets batted again by the lineman...

Why didn't they pound the rock the whole game? They could have worn them down and got cute instead. Congrats to TCU, I didn't think they'd be able to handle Wisconsin. That should give us a small amount of hope that maybe our D can play with a couple teams. During the course of a whole season, that's another story. We need an upgrade in linebackers(depth) and D Line.

The problem comparing one conference against the other is the rules that each conference operates can help with results on the field. Over signing and running players would not set with NU or most big ten teams. Shady recruiting practices, some conferences are ok with it and turn a blind eye to a certain level.

Having said that speed was the deciding factor in the 5 Big 10 losses today.

The Big Ten will continue to get run, adding the huskers will not help. Point being the SEC is by far the strongest football conference period. For the ones who say by adding NU makes the Big Ten the best are confused. For the people who dont get into assigning a confereces strength, fair enough, I dont much care either but rececnt history makes it not worth discussing cuz its obvious.

B10 is not looking good today. So much for rivaling the SEC next year.
Difference is the SEC pretty much gets a home game as a bowl game. The Big Ten teams aren't afraid to play away from home unlike the SEC teams. Next year we will see how good Alabama is playing at Penn St. If we haved more nothern bowl games that the SEC played in different story. Same thing for the Rose Bowl. The Big Ten team has to go all the way cross country while the Pac-10 team only has a short travel distance. The exception being this year with TCU.
