Stewart is an idiot about playoffs. I like his writing and his mailbag, but his hyperbole runs amok whenever college football playoffs are brought up. Everything about the playoffs is a disaster to him, while everything about the bowl system, no matter how corrupt it's proven to be, no matter how foolish it is to base a champion off a popularity vote, no matter how arbitrary, he blindly supports it.
I see his angle of the possibility of the drastic change in the College Football world, but he takes things on the wee bit of the tragic side of change.
Bill Hancock the BCS executive director was just on the Dan Patrick show saying no changes will be made until the 2015 season and maybe the only change would be moving the NCG closer to Jan. 1st. No final 4 or +1 system whatsoever. He's headed to the Dept. of Justice today.
That's how it read to me, and the kid didn't start writing it until 10pm the night before it was due.
Yeah, the only reason our sellout streak continued through the 2000s is because fans were so excited about the prospect of going to the Independence or Alamo Bowl. :sarcasm
Seems doubtful to me that the minor bowls would be any more meaningless than they are today, to the point where they'd be axed.
