Father-son Huskers

A Rivals article from Sunday in honor of Father’s Day named famous father/son pairs who both played college football. LINK

I know the Huskers have had quite a few father/son combinations play for us. Like Johnny Rodgers/Terry Rodgers.

The Ruud family and the Cotton Family immediately spring to mind. I don't know if there was an elder Makovicka, but we've had a number of them in the past decade.

Ruud's great grandfather was a Husker also. So they have three generations. Plus a couple of uncles.

The Ruud's are nice guys. Got to meet them all a couple of times over the last 2 years. Tom and Barrett have been to the local watchsite a few times, and last year (Washington?) the had Bo with them as well.

The Steinkuhler's - Dean, Ty and Baker

The Ruud's - Tom, Barret and Bo

The Cottons - Barney, Jake, Ben and soon to be Sam

The Rogers - Johnny and Terry

The Fishers - Todd and Sean

The Kusch's - Bill and Jesse

The Hylands - John and KC

The Gdowski's - Tom and Andy

The Pensick's - Dan and Cole

And the newest Father/Son duo to don the Husker Uniform

The Moore's - Brian and Tyler

How are all the Makovickas related? Joel and Jeff were early 90's, but there was just a Jordan and Justin in the last couple years.

I think the family tradition of husker football players is one of the greatest things ever about Nebraska football. I dont think too many programs (atleast come to mind) can have that.
