BTN TV schedule for Nebraska weekend (July 1st - 3rd)

Nope, they play evrything at different times, so everyone gets to see them. Just type Nebraska into your dvr and search them all out on the first day they air and record. Otherwise you will really have to search and it will take days of different times to record it all. For people with out dvr's they air things all the time, you get to see alot, no matter what time of the day you want to watch B10 sports. Problem I see is they do cover other B10 sports as well and Nebraska seems to be more football focused, so you do have to watch some stuff that's not nebraska but..... it's pretty good. They are very good at showing what a program is all about. From games to traditions to best of, ect.

By the way, anyone else disappointed that we don't have any earlier games (like *ahem* a certain game o' the century?) from Nebraska's first NC run? I would think that showing TGoTC wouldn't be an issue--it originated on ABC, and wouldn't Nebraska own half of that broadcast?

Also, I'm hoping there's footage somewhere that the BTN can unearth regarding Devaney's win at Michigan that helped put Nebraska on the map. While TGoTC established our dominance and championship caliber, it was Devaney's win @ Michigan (IIRC) that got then lowly Nebraska on the radar of many a sportswriter.

CBS broadcast the 96 curb stomping of Florida, which is why it's never been on ESPN Classic, and probably will never be on the BTN.

I have never seen the entire GotC. I would love to watch it sometime. If I ever break down and buy a game on DVD, that'll probably be the one I get.

An Oklahoma guy uploaded the entire thing to Youtube a while back...he started a thread here about it, which is how I found it, otherwise his videos are listed as private. It was really enjoyable to watch, bad framerate though.

To not broadcast the '96 Fiesta Bowl is a crime. It's quite possibly the single most beautiful game ever played.

They are doing the "reflection of perfection" which is the story of that Fiesta Bowl. There will be plenty of highlights and behind the scenes stuff there. They just decided not to show the actual game.

No reason to worry about what is or is not being shown next weekend. BTN is always going to try to show each of it's members in the best light. Obviously there are some rights issues with the 96 Fiesta Bowl that keeps them from showing the game or they would have shown the game. They also have 15,240 hours of programming to fill every year so they aren't going to shoot their entire wad on Nebraska stuff the first weekend they join the conference. They will slowly roll out more and more programming for Nebraska and will pimp the heck out of it to Husker Nation to get more people to watch the BTN and they will use it to apply pressure to cable outlets that won't put BTN on the tier BTN wants to be on.

If I was introducing NU to a fan base that is somewhat familiar with NU I'd probably start with the most recent history since more of the potential viewers will be familiar with it and then I'd go back and show more and more about what made NU, well NU. BTN has a lot of programming showing OLD history and I'm sure the Huskers will become a big part of that.

They have already begun implementing Huskers into their most recent "Best Position Players 2000-2009" that should tell you a lot about how BTN will be treating NU.

So everybody relax and see what all BTN does to welcome the Huskers this entire year. I for one am looking forward to all the expanded exposure BTN will bring us and anxious to see how much it impacts all sports at NU.

(Big Ten Network) - CHICAGO – BTN will roll out the red carpet this weekend as the University of Nebraska officially joins the Big Ten Conference on Friday. The network will dedicate three days of programming to the Cornhuskers.
The weekend kicks off at noon ET on Friday with Big Ten Welcomes Nebraska, an hour-long special from BTN studios in Chicago. The program will introduce Big Ten fans to the history and tradition of Nebraska athletics, as Cornhusker icons Trev Alberts, Tommie Frazier, Johnny Rodgers and others will share their thoughts on what football means to the state of Nebraska and Husker fans nationwide.

Exclusive 1-on-1 interviews with Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne, football coach Bo Pelini, men’s basketball coach Doc Sadler, baseball coach Darin Erstad, volleyball coach John Cook and softball coach Rhonda Revelle will look ahead to the Huskers’ future in the Big Ten.

The show will be hosted by Dave Revsine, Rick Pizzo and Mike Hall with analysis from Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and The Sporting News’ Mike DeCourcy.

At 1pm ET on Friday afternoon, the network will air the 1998 Orange Bowl vs. Tennessee. Former Husker running back Ahman Green played in the victory, and he will chat live on www.BTN.com for two hours during the show. Then, at 4:30pm ET, as the network airs the 1995 Orange Bowl vs. Miami, Frazier will chat live on www.BTN.com to relive his memories of that game. Fans are invited to participate in the chat and can send their questions for Green and Frazier in advance by using the Twitter hashtag #NebraskaDays.

The Friday schedule also includes 90-minute retrospectives on three memorable football campaigns, including the Huskers’ 1997 season (3pm ET), 1994 season (6:30pm ET) and the 1995 season (9pm ET).

Other programming highlights of the weekend include Nebraska volleyball’s 2006 NCAA Championship match against Stanford (Saturday, 11am ET), the football team’s 2010 victory against Missouri (Sunday, 12:30pm ET) and a review of the Huskers’ 2005 baseball season that featured four future big leaguers Alex Gordon, Joba Chamberlain, Brian Duensing and Zach Kroenke, and culminated in a trip to the College World Series in Omaha (Sunday, 2:30pm ET).
